I think I have done enough 'owning' for one day - it's Christmas Eve - I have better things to do now! But you are right about one thing - you do need some advice - a lot of it, I'd say! Treat yourself over Christmas! Might make you a better man/boy! |

And I celebrate Christmas twice as I also do the Russian one so maybe I'll be twice better, who knows... For now, don't forget the turkey tonight...oh wait it's you. Treat yourself over Christmas as you call it. |

'Nuff of the sexist remarks, please. I really don't like that.
Anyway, in reply to Marcs post, "why don't I just stop swearing?". Well, it is definitely not JUST me that enjoys swearing, there are many others that do it too without trying to outwit the filter and it does frustrate me when all I see are asterisks, particularly when I'm reading a certain member's posts, haha. And yes, it IS the principle. I don't feel like I HAVE to swear, sometimes I just want to, and why shouldn't I? Freedom of speech and all that ****. As I said before, and there really is no use trying to argue against this, just add a filter option in the control we can turn on and off, and voila! We are all happy. |

Freedom of speech, of course, is a very valid point - but their are other freedoms involved ie. the freedom to come on a site like this and not have to see a lot of swearing. It is a difficult situation - however I do think your idea is a good one! Maybe it could work! |
Of course. If they added this function, by default it would be turned ON so those that are offended by foul language would not have to view it until they manually changed the settings. And then those of us who would prefer not to be restricted could simply turn it off.
The only problem that could arise if this was implemented, is that there would be MORE use of foul language. You know how kids are, if they have access to alcohol, they're gonna drink the whole bottle. |

You are the one who lost your rag and started getting ultra pretentious as you are always prepared to do. You simply don't like it one bit when someone gives you an arguments, lets face it. I can't believe how you prance around determined to ignore the valids points people are making and instead proclaiming ''Wah wah wah! My kid views this forum. Curses are obviously for rebellious twats. Dick is probably okay but cunt is too far! Wah wah wah!''. My god you are unbelievable! Quote:

I don't see 'bitch' or '****' as swear words, and 'bastard' has factual connotations I guess.

I can't go around calling people masturbaters for all my days! |
Actually looking at that list again, might not add any of those. Couple are borderline.

All I care about is the F family really.Take the rest, leave my fucking F's be! I use them all the time but almost never to actually insult someone. In fact you can't really insult someone with that word. Nobody calls anybody a simple 'fucker' over the forums. People just bang about fuck to string other words together and add colour to the sentences because that's the way they are.
I mean ... uh ... they are putting it on to be cool and bring down the system. |

And please, drop that absolutely pathetic argument, it's over with now and if you're going to feel the need to keep reusing it then sadly you're not worth arguing with. |
Oh, and LOL at your 'consideration to filter them'. You obviously missed Stu's point, the brain still registers it as 'fuck', so it's completely pointless, really.
