I don't adore her either, but she appeals to some members of the public through her naivety. People feel a certain affection for her, as though she is a pet or small child who doesn't know any better

Fangz 26-08-2005 09:54 AM

I really don't know, but they do, she's the most successful HM so far.

jrc 26-08-2005 10:24 AM

BB3 NEWS!

Apparently, Anthony's presenting on this show was not well received.

But over on ITV1, CD:UK is also struggling.

Following presenter Cat Deeley's departure in March, the show has experimented with guest presenters, including a disastrous appearance by Big Brother winner Anthony Hutton. Ratings have plunged and ITV is hoping a revamp and a new presenting team of former Hear'Say singer Myleene Klass and Xfm's Lauren Laverne will increase viewing figures.

And now it's going to be a TRL style chart aswell every week, not to keen on their choice of presenters though.

What happened to Dave Berry presenting? I thought he was like going to be permanent? Nikki Sanderson was good they should keep her.

I've never seen TRL, so I'm not familiar with the format at all. But Lauren Laverne would be an excellent choice.

Lance 08-09-2005 06:29 PM

TRL well it used to have like a daily chart that people voted for their faves on the website. It's basicallyjust an interactive viwers chart Charlotte not too sure on how they will run it but that's what I have heard so far.

CharlotteSometimes 08-09-2005 06:50 PM

Wouldn't that end up being dominated by boyblands, r & b and hip hop, though? I'd rather see new acts getting a break, or the tried and trusted sales-based format. What chart is CD:UK based on, anyway? I was thinking it was the Network Chart that features on local radio, but didn't CH5 pick that up a while ago?

cc100 08-09-2005 07:12 PM

Lauren Laverne will be a good host, but why Myleene Klass? is she still popular??

Yep it would but that's what gets ratings I suppose and well as long as they get the veiwers they'll be happy no matter what music they are showing.

The chart, I think, was based on midweek sales and just predictions really.

Yeah, I suppose it is more of a kids' show than anything else. Still, with the BBC going out of its way to kill TOTP, it would be nice to have a viable alternative that covers all genres.

There was a show on MTV saturday lunch times that had a lot of new acts that are from all genres that I saw a few weeks back but it does not seem to have come on since.

It would be good to have an alternative as CD:UK only focuses on popular acts really and TOTP seem's to be trying to go back to the past with all these archived video's.

The best music show is Later with Jools Holland IMO.
