Ok....so now ive looked up the data on that wonderful site wiki....and the figures in the Lancet report actually covers all deaths since the Iraq invasion. That includes deaths from violence from all sides and even deaths due to starvation and water poisoning.
Its unfortunate that there had to be any deaths at all....but the only other alternative to the invasion was to allow the continuing assault by Saddam on others:
Over 100k Kurds gassed....for being Kurds.
Mandaean population gone from over 50k to under 5k....for being Mandaean.
Ethnic cleansing of all those who were not Shia and Sunni.
And his followers and Al Quaida supporters have continued the atrocities:
