I would like to know why someone else can lock a thread that I started. Can anyone do it or just the administrater?

the fact every time I want to type a nice simple :) smiley it comes out looking like that tacky nonsense and not something more aesthetically pleasing

replace the basic emoticons pls (I'm fine with all of the additional ones like :hehe: or :fan: or w/e, but the :( :D :mad: :) ;) ones are gross.)
