The program editors catch 22 aint it? Damned if they do, damned if they dont. if they dont, same people shouting about homophobic remarks will be claiming BB are fixing it for Victor to win.

Given the program is on a 15 minute delay, they had enough time to bleep it out before transmission tonight, if that segment of filming is relevant to any ongoing storylines I should imagine they would leave it in

I still can't see it if i'm honest. It could cause offence to the viewing public.

This thread is sexist.

Everybody who knows me knows how much I despise homophobia, and any homophobic slurs. But I don't think calling someone a cock-sucker in a joking way is homophobic. If he had said that to one of the girls you wouldn't be calling it heterophobia. I suppose it depends on in which context it was used.

Edit;; on second thoughts, i suppose it is homophobic. in which case that's terrible.

:(

That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

Ever wondered why there are gay bars!?.. because in a regular bar if a gay couple walked in holding hands and kissing that they would be frowned upon by alot of other customers and can face discrimination.

So before you sit there and say that gay people segregate themselves, think about why that is nessecary sometimes.

..but can't get married.

Civil partnerships do not unite two people as husband and husband or wife and wife, they unite them as partners.

sorry but,

My local in my small town is called the cage, it's a working mans bar, hardly any women go in.

I met this gay bloke in another pub in town and thought it would be funny(as he did) to go to the cage and see how the apes would take it..you know what!, everyone loved him, he was the life and soul of the place that night. My brother in law walked home with him after shutting time and confessed he would try anything once..our gay friend has been back thrice in the past 6 months cause he loved the night out that much...my advice to you is..MOVE.

But since you're an equal human being, you can also get a job, save your money, buy a plane ticket and travel somewhere that it is legal.

Unfair, I know, but it's not like there's no way around it. Regardless, Victor calling Brian a cock-sucker wasn't meant as a homophobic slur...why? Because it isn't one. Women suck cock, some men in prison are forced to suck cock....I mean the list goes on. :joker: Who cares?

Civil partnerships is the way forward, this marraige thing is to full on for any two people..straight people should go through a year of civil partnership beforew they get married.

Anyway, complain to your local mp about it, it seems to me that god has been proven to be a load of shyte now by science, so therefore the church shouldn't really have a say in anything..so if you feal strongly about it, start a petition or something..make a stand..

Wow, well I suppose if that happened in that one bar then that changes the whole world. And FYI, where I live there isn't alot of homophobia.. but it is a problem in alot of bars and the fact you deny that shows your naivety to the situation.

But the fact that we have to travel to another country proves the point of being un-equal.

I don't know if you realise how many people are fighting to have gay marriage legalized. Besides, even if the church would marry a gay couple they can't!

It's so ignorant to say stuff like that. If you research you'll see that lots of gay people have even been killed in bars just for being themselves. So instead of us 'secluding ourselves' how about it becomes exceptable to the wider public that a gay couple can be the same as a straight couple. Stop trying to turn this around and say it's the gay community's fault when it's not.

M X 31-08-2010 01:20 AM

i'm not.

But i can assure you that there is far far more straight people killed in bars just for being themselves than there is gay folks.

We are just like everyone else and can take a bit of banter.

You have a good attitude, its refreshing and much more positive than... "We are so hard done by, I am such a victim lala" I know that things are not perfect for Gay people but I do believe (just from my own experience and what I see around) there is much more tollerance particularly in those under 40 years of age. I think this is credit to the gay community for being positive, not taking themselves too seriously and winning people over with humour and understanding.

As for the cock sucker remark, even if it was said at Brian because he was gay (although I dont' think it was) Say if I said something stupid and someone said to me "Aww you are so blond" I would find this funny, an inoffensive insult, a little bit of banter, and would give something back. However If someone was to say to me in a semi serious way "You're just a dumb ass blond" I would find this insulting, especially if the taunt was repeated a few times.

I think how something is said and what context it is said in really does change its meaning. So calling someone a cock sucker in a bantering way is not really insulting and homophobic, unless you are super sensitive and take yourself too seriously which is kinda sad.

No, it only proves that people running your country blow. You're only "un-equal" if you let yourself get bullied by those in the opposition. I'd say there's just as many of you, if not more, than there are Anti-Gay protesters. You can do whatever you like. It just takes work in certain fields until the government can evolve. It's not a true matter of inequality, it's a matter of progress.
