Of course it's sad. I wish people were more aware of the history of music and who made what it is today. I'm not saying everyone should love these artists but they deserve some damn recognition from everyone.

Oh well, I think it's useless to argue now. We owned this shit anyway.

Well for people with any common sense and arent as ignorant as **** I think between yourself, remy and the rest, you've explained it pretty damn clear, only the lesser minded people might not get that.

BB_Eye 05-01-2011 07:11 PM

I can't really say. I've met so many people who seem so level-headed and normal on the surface and then you find out they listen to Creed. Madness. :conf2:

I find pop singers in general inspire disgustingly fanatical levels of devotion in people, that tends to spill over onto review sites where anybody who would dare criticise the flavour of the month had best prepare to get mobbed by hysterical middle-aged women. Expect oestrogen-fuelled platitudes like "well he sells loads of records so your opinion doesn't count", "you're just a music snob and out of touch with real people" and my favourite "you have no right to criticise until you get your own multimillion pound record deal".

I have him on ignore

I've come to accept that MeMyselfandI is to music what cancer is to humanity.

I assume of course that he and Patrick have heard a whole Beatles album to make this judgment.

And people wonder why I'm so hateful :bored:

ANYWAY. No particular fans annoy me... other than, as everyone's said, the 'stans'. The ones blind to their idol's bad artistry, lack of talent (ohay britney), bad music and are too emotionally-invested in their idol.

Someone called me a stan the other day :bored: I'm quite clearly not.

The ones that spring to mind that grind my gears are Lady Gaga, Radiohead, General 'don't listen to anything but metal' when it's not even metal technically douchebags and the pretentious classical loving bastards who claim Bach is the best ever.

It just does:tongue:

I think he means the people who started to like them just because he was suddenly iconic and cool because he shot himself (correct me if I'm wrong Joe?)

Because that's a guy? lmao

He/She/It basically said that Leona Lewis aka "Horse face" changed the face of pop music.

Feel free to comment.

You're right, it was one of those epoch-making innovations in music. Don't listen to all of those old farts laughing at you. The music of Leona Lewis is too mindblowingly avant-garde for them to appreciate.

Oh right.

Well there's obviously been a massive swing from vocal-less music since 2006. (hiya jack its actually the opposite lol!!!!!!!)

To those saying that basically you need to listen to albums of Beatles songs in order to decide if you really like them or not, otherwise saying you dont is just ignorance and trying to be cool...have you ever listened to a whole Bieber/JLS/'insert other uncool manufactured pop band here' album? Or are you judging it purely on the few songs you have heard?

/Devils advocate

Shaun 05-01-2011 08:08 PM

Vicky...did you just make that comparison? Are you suggesting there's hidden JLS talent?

MeMyselfAndI 05-01-2011 08:08 PM

yeah i was gunna say that Vicky. And have you heard leonas album haters

I actually like one of their songs :blush2:

But no, I'm not trying to compare, just trying to point out the obvious flaws in sme of the lines of thinking that are going on in this thread :p

Justin Beiber and JLS are not album based artists. In fact they are built from the ground up to be sold on the strenght of their singles. You are comparing a multi talented band who produced multi layerd, complex concept albums and skin deep artists whose albums are simply holding pens for a collection of ghost penned singles.

Someone who has only heard one or two Beatles song on the radio will have something to learn from listening to the albums. Someone who has only heard one or two Justin Beiber songs on the radio will have absoloutely nothing to learn doing likewise.

Yeah them sorts. But on sort of a different level, people around my age will understand more cos they grew up with people like them, it's hard to explain lol

Lady GaGa. Nothing against her or her music, but her fans are annoying brats who find anyway to bring her into any conversation. :bored:

Ramsay 05-01-2011 09:19 PM

i dont really agree with that
i mean the beatles were decades before me yet i would like to think i like them just as much as anyone back then did

InOne 05-01-2011 09:23 PM

I'm not talking about how old or young you are as a fan. I'm talking the nature of the fan, which is what I find annoying

The thing I hate is that she is a mainstream recording artist - the biggest on the planet right now - with mass appeal and yet she convinces her more pretentious fans that they are 'special' Little Monsters like some underground cult helping stamp out one prejudice at a time. Eveyone and their grandmother likes GaGa. You're not special for doing so. You have not 'found her' and she has not 'reached out' to you.
