I've just bought the first season on DVD. I'm only six shows in but already hooked.

Sky One now has the rights to the 3rd Series of Prison Break in the UK.
The new series kicks off on September 17th over in the states and then EXACTLY ONE WEEK after in the UK!!!:dance::dance:

This time round Michael is the one being wrongly incarcerated and it's up to a newly-free Lincoln to break him out. Sounds lame? Hell yeah it does, but I'm sure we'll all be intrigued to see how it pans out: a show renowned for its stunning twists surely has plenty of scope left to surprise us. In a special edition of the spoiler spot, we take a look at what's in store for season three.

Who's back? Joining Michael in the new Panama prison (called 'Sona') are Bellick (boo!), T-Bag (hiss!) and Mahone (hurrah! erm.. boo!). Also back are Linc, Sucre and Sara - well, eventually...

Who's new? Plenty of new characters will be joining the cast next season: a much-needed boost, given that Mahone bumped off many himself last year. Here's who:

Lechero: Panamanian drug kingpin who is ruler of the roost amongst the inmates at Sona

Whistler: arrested for having killed the mayor's son in a bar fight

Sofia: the beautiful, Latino girlfriend of Whistler

"Betty Crocker": an agent for The Company (yes, they're back..) who befriends Lincoln in his quest

McGrady: a 16-year-old Panamanian kid, who is obsessed with all things American and latches on to Michael

Sapo: a new friend for Bellick, both of whom are suffering from the same bad back problems. They also have another thing in common: they're both being tortured by their fellow inmates. Expect to see Bellick drinking water from a puddle like a dog...

So what's happening with Sara Tancredi? Actress Sarah Wayne Callies has been out of action due to pregnancy, something that will NOT be written into the show. She's actually missed filming of the first three episodes so instead a body double has been brought in and Sarah has recorded some voiceovers to go alongside her lookalike. Will it be dodgy? I think so.

Will the whole season be set in prison? Probably not. According to Scheuring, "It will start with that, but by the mid-point of the season Michael will find himself immersed in circumstances far removed from the aims that drove him in the previous two seasons - escape and exoneration". Rumour has it that one of the brothers may even be killed off at some point during the season. Lincoln is finally offed, maybe?

How about Sucre? The last we saw of Sucre he was collapsed on a Mexican road in desperate search of Maricruz. Expect that storyline to continue early on in season three. Also look out for the return of Linc's son LJ in episode three![/spoil]
