I'll agree 100% with stu's comments. I actual can't figure out why i still watch, wasnt going to tonight, but still did, even though i couldnt care less who went. Its just out of a vague curiousity, that comes from been an avid watcher/fan of the previous years. But i really am gonna go cold turkey on this very soon!, After i've watched BB now, theres a feeling of guilt, similar to watching S***e afternoon TV! yeah ****** it i'm done.

Kerry 01-09-2011 12:51 AM

I still watch. I hated it initially. Then it grew on me. Now I have it on though admittedly don't avidly watch. It's corner of my eye type viewing

Jordan. 01-09-2011 12:55 AM

Don't know why anyone would stop watching all together on this series, its delivered almost everynight. It's starting to annoy me now members who aren't even watching lingering about in the BB section slagging it off at whatever chance they get.

The editing and music used to piss me off just as much as others but now it's becomes barely noticeable. Anyone switching off over it is either being melodramatic or haven't given it enough chance to get used to it. That or they've just outgrown the show as a whole imo.

Wildcat! 01-09-2011 12:56 AM

I have! Sorry to say it as weel. But I just got bored.

keithafc 01-09-2011 12:57 AM

Do most of you not watch on youtube? I find if you watch it on youtube and actually are focusing on it more, you do get more enjoyment from it and see more. As odd as that might sound but i much prefer watching something on youtube than on TV.

Do you not get distracted from your surroundings if some one else is in the room with you?

Depends. If I'm having a night curled on the sofa just watching TV then no. Not really. But if I'm on here chatting or pottering about the house like I do then yes. Moreso. Not entirely though. If it's something funny for example I'll just stop everything and watch :D

001steven 01-09-2011 01:33 AM

I have been dipping in and out of it for the past 4 nights, i just aint fussed if i miss an episode or not.

I really hope Normal BB has me hooked, its all down to the cast and what BB's plans are with them.

TomRocksUrSocks 01-09-2011 08:12 AM

I stopped watching after about 3 days. I just don't like the 'new' Big Brother at all. Feel free to witter on about how I'm stuck in the past etc. , but compare BB7 to now. :hmph:

joeysteele 01-09-2011 08:26 AM

Not me, I love BB, I believe it is still a great idea, there are people in there I am not keen on and I am sure there will be people I totally dislike in the main BB.

I will always watch it and support it though, switching over from it would never be an option for me.
I wish there was more footage but there's not so one hour a day plus spin offs is hardly tiresome to watch.

I have watched some real awful people in previous BBs and always stuck with the show.
It has been really good in my opinion and the editing has been much fairer than in the last 2 series of BB, I like Brian too.

No.I will never stop watching it, there are such a diverse set of celebrities in it and there will be another diverse mix in the main BB too. With the change to vote to save too I am really happy we have BB back,I will be happy knowing that because it is watched on Channel 5 that Channel 4 are getting a good thumbs down for dropping it too.

Channel 4 are the ones who took it away from its heady days of BB5 to BB8,they let it slip badly from then on.This is much better than the last 2 series and if they eventually make live feed available to those who want it then it will be near perfect.

I'm just bored of it. I'm not sure about the term outgrow because it implies the people who watch it are immature [although I do think it's a bit of a childish series]. But yeah I wouldn't waste my time popping in to the live topics to talk about how I'm not watching it and that it's crap. Waste of time.

Is this really giving you difficulty? Your initial point is stupid. I don't talk about Big Brother anymore because I don't watch it. This consumer stance doesn't somehow get contradicted by explaining why I don't watch it anymore. This forum has about a dozen other subforums for various interests that I enjoy posting in.

Just read that over as many times as you feel you need to until you get it.

Hahaha you don't talk about Big Brother anymore because you don't watch it right?

So what you doing now replying to my post???

Somehow I think 'the stupid' bit is the wrong way round!!!

You're wrong.

Totally understand. And thas how it was for me. I actually went into the series, ready to accept whatever new changes they have. And for the first weeek, I think I have followed this series more than others. I watche all the highlight shows, which I didnt do in the past. But just the last 2 or 3 dayz, I kinda wasnt making sure i dont miss the episodes. So I missed a couple, and it felt normal. Something is amiss, because otherwise, there is no way I would miss watching, any of the Highlight shows.

What's with this playground mentality, "If you don't watch it, you're not in our gang anymore, so you can't voice an opinion"?

Stu 01-09-2011 05:20 PM

I'm not sure how he expected this topic to work with his whole 'DON'T MENTION IT IF YOU CLAIM YOU DON'T DISCUSS IT ANYMORE!' mentality.

Zippy 01-09-2011 08:43 PM

We come to this forum regardless of Big brother so its not like we specifically come here just to talk about how we dont watch CBB anymore.

And the demise of the show and it's perceived faults is very much a topic in itself. As is the issue of fans abandoning it. Which is pretty much what this thread is about.

Not every thread here is about what just happened in the BB house. Most are more general so even those who've deserted it can still have something to say. Indeed, people were posting in this section way before the show even aired.

So piss off with your "you shouldnt be here if you don't watch" BS. We are TiBB members and can post where we damn like.

fruit_cake 01-09-2011 08:48 PM

I never liked CBB much hopefully the real BB will be better. Celebs are too used to being in the public spotlight IMO

Zippy 01-09-2011 10:18 PM

It's ridiculous how hardcore BB fans get pissy about CBB hate

Its not even proper BB...just a novelty, trashy, z-list infested spin off. Really, it has little to do with the original BB concept.

starry 01-09-2011 10:22 PM

I'm more gripped by the American one than this CBB. There is drama in the American series and none (that doesn't seem contrived) in the British one.

But it did always stick to the concept/rules just enough where as this one hasn't. hopefully there will be a change for the normal BB but I doubt it. I think trashy tv with no real direction/purpose is here to stay.

AJ. 01-09-2011 11:29 PM

Tried watching but it's not BB. Might if they sort out a live stream.

fingers 01-09-2011 11:33 PM

One has to be very careful about posting on these less than complimentary threads, It can be detrimental to your continued membership.

reece(: 01-09-2011 11:55 PM
