Actually watching it again i'm sure it is not Niko now but it does look like Jerry Kapowitz who found the diamonds at the end of TBOGT?

Really hope 24th May is correct.

I was expecting it to be around October time next year.

I think it is quite clever they are going to focus on the rich/poor divide in Los Santos and how they live alongside another, plus the financial side of things with the global recession and the usual rags to riches tale on GTA etc.

Scarlett. 02-11-2011 11:51 PM

Indeed, they didnt really get chance to do that with IV due to it coming out before the recession

I mean don't get me wrong I hope it does go to other cities and towns but I don't think such transparant speculation gives any real insight into that. It's like saying because the game showed a sky you could use that sky to fly to visit Officer Tenpenny's abusive uncle in Carson City.

I'm totally aware I sound like a dick, here.

But that logo on the sign is an "Interstate" logo, interstate highways don't just twirl around a city, and they don't just end ;)

MTVN 03-11-2011 02:11 AM

Be amazing if the game was huge, it'd actually be pretty cool it if it took about half an hour to drive from one end of the map to the other

Ramsay 03-11-2011 02:22 AM

I remember waiting up till midnight to watch the GTA IV trailer
Seems so long ago

I read online that the Interstate 5 links LA to San Francisco and even goes all the way down to Mexico irl. lakshdjgjreuil :amazed:

I hope it comes out after my AS levels or I'm screwed.

That wind farm in real life is also on the road to Vegas/Venturas

Stu 03-11-2011 11:23 AM

Los Angeles in real life has interstate highways running through it. Why wouldn't Los Santos? After all it is a faithful recreation. It's still just a video game though. The roads don't actually have to go anywhere. Playing by those rules every game so far has been guilty of having roads that go nowhere.

Anyway unless the official announcement is still keeping details under wraps the game like I expected from the trailer will be Los Santos and it's surroundings. Fine by me. Focus on one massive city like GTA IV but with the more natural environments thrown in too. It's win win.

I'd love to have seen a full blown San Andreas style map but times have changed.

Lol check the official announcement thread, you were right :p not too bothered though, San Fierro was boring and Las Venturas was only mildly interesting

Iceman 03-11-2011 02:37 PM

Grand Theft Auto V has been given its first details by Rockstar Games.

Developed by Rockstar North, the game will be set in present day Los Santos and the surrounding countryside, hills and beaches.

The firm also said that Grand Theft Auto V will feature mutliplayer and is "the largest and most ambitious game [we have] created".

"A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California," read a press release.

Los Santon only?

Ahh, I wanted to go Vegas again :( :joker:

Jordan. 03-11-2011 03:00 PM

Don't really mind it only in Los Santos. I only ever stuck to one place anyway.
