This might sound square, but I've never used a torrent or pirated a game...though I did download songs off Youtube, only to decide they all sounded **** and bought them all on Amazon Mp3...I mean come on, 99p a song? It's hardly expensive.

King Gizzard 24-01-2012 04:09 PM

Never illegally downloaded a game or movie, use to download WWE shows and albums (basically I don't want something that I probably wont like) and if I love it I go and buy the CD

could of used youtube I suppose but meh

Ramsay 24-01-2012 04:09 PM

Im a cheap bastard ..why pay for something that i can get for free? i know that makes me sound stupid but thats the way i am so all this news is killing me :(

King Gizzard 24-01-2012 04:12 PM

I will be pissed though if every single one gets shut down, I get my football manager customisations (legal) via a couple of them

CharlieO 24-01-2012 04:12 PM

I don't download stuff that is available reasonably in the country I am in. E.g. I download all my music legally off iTunes, however I download stuff like Jersey Shore which isn't shown in Singapore and in England takes like a year extra to come out.

MTVN 24-01-2012 04:12 PM

99p doesn't really sound a lot but it all adds up.. most people have hundreds/thousands of songs of their iPod's, and with movies you're often paying a tenner for just a couple hours entertainment really

CharlieO 24-01-2012 04:13 PM

But things like BB which are never available for DVD purchase of course I will illegally download them to rewatch. Thats doing no wrong in my eyes.

Marc 24-01-2012 04:14 PM

Now there's the thing, someone in the US needs to make some sort of legal "On Demand" channel for the world, it could be subscription based at a reasonable price. What these big companies don't understand is people pirate their things because they're either hard to get or cost too much.

Gabe Newell of Valve's video game service Steam said
Quote:

"We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem," he said. "If a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate's service is more valuable."

Harry! 24-01-2012 07:29 PM

The only music I buy legally is CD's - put it that way. I don't download a great amount of music anyway (I don't think I have downloaded any music so far this year).

People wouldn't have to download TV shows if they aired in the UK like a day or two after the US airdate, these people expect us to wait for weeks and sometimes months for new episodes of some shows. It's a joke. :bored:

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 24-01-2012 07:33 PM

they cant take torrents down can they? :suspect:

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 24-01-2012 07:33 PM
