**** sake I have been putting off Hatchi for months because I know it's gonna have a horrible ending like Marley and Me

Jords 13-02-2012 04:56 PM

It looks so sad!

Glenn. 13-02-2012 05:00 PM

I honestly don't think I can watch it again. I was a sobbing wreck the last time I watched it. I literally couldn't breathe I was sobbing so bad.

fruit_cake 13-02-2012 05:35 PM

aww I like sad films

Glenn. 15-02-2012 01:17 AM

I can't believe I've just put myself through that again :bawling:

Spoiler:

I don't really know where to start with Hachi, there's so much that I love about the film. The setting is really picturesque with the little train station. Obviously it differs from he Japanese setting that the true story is based on.

When I first see the film I couldn't believe the Professor dies at work and it got me again this time around.

The music is outstanding throughout the film.

This is my favorite piece of music in the film. Its beautiful, and sad. Especially the scenes of the film its playing along with at the end.

I loved the film so much.

Its heart lifting, funny in some parts, the Skunk part comes to mind, and terribly sad too.

Its the kind of film that makes you look at your own dog and despise it slightly for not being loyal enough.

I will give the film an 8/10.

Ramsay 15-02-2012 01:18 AM

8/10

Glenn. 15-02-2012 01:21 AM

Ninastar 15-02-2012 01:23 AM

9/10 I cried for hours

I couldn't even tell my dad why I was crying

My eyes water just thinking about it

Glenn. 15-02-2012 01:25 AM

Its the music that gets me.

Ninastar 15-02-2012 01:26 AM

i don't remember it, but if I watched it again I think that would definitely affect me too

Glenn. 15-02-2012 01:41 AM

Shaun 15-02-2012 02:06 AM

I need a link :/

Shaun 15-02-2012 02:07 AM

Nvm, found one!

MTVN 15-02-2012 03:21 AM

Don't think I've really given away anything big but I'll spoiler this just in case

Spoiler:

I liked it, it's an easy to watch and enjoyable film, which is really sad in parts but also quite nice as well. The characters are all really likeable as well and it is all pretty touching, I liked how they all took care of Hachi when he was sat there waiting all those years and I agree with Glenn about the setting, the film overall was pretty well made I thought. It'd probably affect dog lovers & owners the most but even those who aren't will still get drawn into the whole thing, I'd give it a 7/10

SharkAttack 15-02-2012 06:41 AM

Hachi: A Dog's Tale

8/10

Pretty much had to bite back tears so my 9 year-old daughter(who wasn't crying) wouldn't see me. Put to bed, so can now :bawling:

Glenn. 16-02-2012 10:03 PM

Made my cousin watch this tonight. We both blubbed like a pair of babies :joker:

Samuel. 16-02-2012 10:06 PM

Plan on watching this tonight.

Glenn. 16-02-2012 11:49 PM

Gonna spoiler this for those who haven't seen it.

Spoiler:

If you haven't watched the film yet, don't watch this video!
Spoiler:

Last chance!

Oh forgot to rate Drive

4/10 for Drive - decent soundtrack, but the movie itself was quite weird

Will watch Hachi either tonight or tomorrow

Samuel. 17-02-2012 02:25 AM

Spoiler:

Yeah, so I cried...

I'm not sure it was always earnt, some of the tear jerker scenes felt a bit cheap, but it didn't really bother me too much, especially since I love being affected like that by a work of fiction. The music is amazing, I don't think the film would have been as half as emotional without it. Everything about the film is just done really well and it does what it needs to do. Richard Gere was the perfect choice as the owner.

7.5/10

And now I know why I saw the Jurassic Bark similarities, both are based on Hachikō.

Glenn. 17-02-2012 02:29 AM

Non fiction you mean.

It's a true story :idc:

Samuel. 17-02-2012 02:34 AM

Based on a true story :idc:

Glenn. 17-02-2012 02:39 AM

Non-fiction (or nonfiction) is the form of any narrative, account, or other communicative work whose assertions and descriptions are understood to be fact. This presentation may be accurate or not—that is, it can give either a true or a false account of the subject in question—however, it is generally assumed that authors of such accounts believe them to be truthful at the time of their composition or, at least, pose them to their audience as historically or empirically true. Note that reporting the beliefs of others in a non-fiction
format is not necessarily an endorsement of the ultimate veracity of those beliefs, it is simply saying it is true that people believe them (for such topics as mythology, religion). Non-fiction can also be written about fiction, giving information about these other works.

It is a true story. There's a statue in Japan of Hachi?

Samuel. 17-02-2012 02:44 AM

If you want to be pedantic about it. It was quite obvious what I was saying.

MTVN 17-02-2012 02:45 AM

It's not fact though lol, the real Hachi lived in 1920's Japan in different circumstances probably
