I'd support Light My Fire if it counts but I'm pretty sure it's 60s. I think I researched it when I was doing mine and if it isn't a 60s song, I'd be surprised I didn't suggest it :p

Marc - the Led Zeppelin and Joni Mitchell songs you suggested, and Pyramid - the Rolling Stones song you suggested - were all released in the 60s I'm afraid.

Recorded throughout 1979, first in Nassau, Bahamas (Compass Point), then Paris (Pathe Marconi), with some end-of-year overdubbing in New York City, Emotional Rescue was the first Rolling Stones album recorded following Keith Richards' exoneration from a Toronto drugs charge that could have landed him in jail for years. Fresh from the revitalization of Some Girls, Richards and Mick Jagger led the Stones through dozens of new songs, some of which

Emotional Rescue" is a song by the English rock 'n roll band, The Rolling Stones. It was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and is featured on their 1980 album Emotional Rescue.

Shaun 09-04-2012 06:17 PM

Vanessa - Light My Fire was also a 60s song, and Another Brick in the Wall is already in :D

Shaun 09-04-2012 06:18 PM

Sorry, I meant it was released in the 80s

Still wrong.

I've suggested it, but despite the fact I've laid down some absolutely classic tracks yet again, none of mine ever get nominated.

Shaun 09-04-2012 06:25 PM

Not really Pyramid, and I'm hardly surprised that it's yet again you taking issue with something, but I've said time and time again that it has to have been released in the 1970s. That is to say, between January 1st 1970 and December 31st 1979. The Rolling Stones' "Emotional Rescue" was released as a single on June 20th 1980, from an album, "Emotional Rescue", released on the same day.

Shaun 09-04-2012 06:26 PM

And I'm sorry about the "Imagine" cock-up but I included it in the 1980s contest because it was a #1 then, and I'm not particularly sure why, but to include it in this one too would be a bit unfair

Tough luck Shaun. The thread isn't your personal domain. I know that might come as a shock and all that.......

How about David Bowie Heroes? Or Marvin Gaye What's Going On?

Marc 09-04-2012 06:30 PM

ZZ Top - Tush
Queen - Fat Bottomed Girls

Shaun 09-04-2012 06:30 PM

In the OP, Vanessa, there's a list of 120 songs not in blue, red or green. Those are already through, and Heroes and What's Going On are there

Marc 09-04-2012 06:31 PM

The Blues Brothers - Soul Man

Marc 09-04-2012 06:31 PM

I am done :hmph:

Bollo 09-04-2012 07:11 PM

I'll Support Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing (Marc) *wishes Romeo & Juliet was released in the 70's*

Kate! 09-04-2012 07:33 PM

I'll support Soul Man, and I think that's me done. :)
