yeah, I know. That's the sad part

"Dark Knight Rises" star Christian Bale is currently in Denver, CO ... visiting the victims and families of last week's movie theater shooting.

According to KDVR, Bale has been spotted at Aurora Medical Center ... where he reportedly arrived by ambulance around 2PM ... most likely to enter the building under the radar.

A rep for Warner Bros. released a statement saying, "Mr. Bale is there as himself, not representing Warner Brothers."

It's unclear when Bale arrived in Denver.

Bale's film was playing in the Century 16 theater in Aurora, CO when James Holmes opened fire on the crowd ... killing 12 people and injuring 58 others.

Bale has not made a public appearance since the incident.

King Gizzard 25-07-2012 01:00 PM

I just refuse to see how killing someone would be worse for them then sitting around having to think about what they done for the rest of their lives.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 25-07-2012 01:09 PM

killing someone is obviously worse because if he has no remorse for what he has done and doesnt even care then having to sit around thinking about it is hardly punishment

the death sentence is retarded and so i anybody who supports it

King Gizzard 25-07-2012 01:13 PM

No, I mean I don't see how it would be worse (for him) and he'd probably favour it over having to be in prison for the rest of his life

I'm the most anti-capital punishment person you'll ever meet, it's stupid for a number of reasons

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 25-07-2012 01:20 PM

oh i thought you meant because he would be feeling guilty about it and stuff and the guilt would be a worse punishment :suspect:

but yeah it is stupid because whichever way you look at it its basically murder and i know a lot of people are like eye for an eye and all that **** but sentencing someone to death for murdering people makes you just as bad as them imo

Aurora shooting: Colorado gun sales up after cinema killings

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18980974

Quote:

The number of people seeking to buy guns in Colorado has soared since last week's mass shooting in the US state's town of Aurora, say law officials.

In the three days after the shooting, applications for the background checks needed to buy a gun legally were up 43% on the previous week.

According to data released by the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, 880 people applied for the state-approved background checks on Friday, 13 July, days before the shooting.

On Friday, 29 July, the day following the shooting, the number was 1,216, and on the Saturday, 1,243. In total, 2,887 people were approved to buy a gun over the weekend, an increase of 43.5% on the weekend before, said the bureau.

Dick Rutan, owner of Gunners Den in the Colorado town of Arvada, said sales were "off the hook".

"What they're saying is, 'they want to have a chance'," he told the Denver Post. "They want to have the ability to protect themselves and their families if they are in a situation like what happened in the movie theatre."
Yeah, MORE guns'n'ammo ..... that's the answer .....

arista 25-07-2012 05:32 PM

This is so how I have felt for a long time but i'm beginning to wonder if someone I love was a victim of such pointless crime would I think the same? Tough one.

I think you'd be quite dazed and out of it when you start to realise what you've just done

The Colorado cinema where 24-year-old James Holmes is accused of opening fire during a Dark Knight Rises film premiere has offered to cover funeral expenses for the victims' families.

Cinemark - the corporate owners of the Century 16 Theatre - called the chapel where 32-year-old victim Rebecca Wingo's service was held and offered to cover the cost of her funeral service, according to TMZ.

Wingo's family are said to have turned the offer down, but the owner of the chapel also told the website that Cinemark said it was willing to provide financial support for all of the victims' families by paying any funeral expenses not covered by the Crime Victims' Compensation Fund. It is not known whether any other funeral homes and chapels in the area received the same call.

Holmes is currently in police custody and is scheduled to return to court on Monday, July 30 at 9.30am. He is said to have recently claimed to have no recollection of carrying out the shooting.
Thats such a nice gesture :(

he didn't just snap. he put a lot of planning into it. So he can't claim to have just blacked out and gone on a ramnpage. he spent alot of time buying weapons and figuring out how to booby trap his apartment. It took months of planning.

His excuse that he just snapped and can't remember is BS.

James Holmes Charged with 24 counts of murder.
12 just for murder and 12 for extreme indifference for murder.

I think he'll go to jail and hopefully straight to the chair. Even if he's insane there is no way a insane person should get away with killing that many people

To explain 12. The official # is 12.

An Ohio man has reportedly been arrested for bringing several weapons to a screening of The Dark Knight Rises.

The incident occurred on Saturday (August 3), when the man was spotted carrying a satchel by a cinema manager, according to The Plain Dealer.

An off-duty police officer and the cinema manager searched the man's satchel, and are said to have found a gun, two magazines and multiple knives.

Police issued a search warrant following an investigation and eventually arrested the man on Monday evening (August 6), with charges pending.

This latest incident comes weeks after James Holmes killed 12 and injured more than 50 by opening fire at an Aurora, CO screening of The Dark Knight Rises.

Holmes was formally charged with 24 counts of first degree murder as well as 116 counts of attempted murder last week.

He could face the death penalty if convicted on those charges. Holmes returns to court on Thursday
