Grrr!!

Wish they would just hurry up and release the figures already.

MTVN 19-08-2012 10:30 AM

Celebrity Big Brother entertained 1.31m (6.2%) on Channel 5 at 9.10pm (+1: 147k/0.8%)

Not bad for a Saturday I guess, still no figures for Friday though

Its bad for a CBB.

Think last CBB was dropping just below 2 million on a Saturday so it is significally down on Januarys series.

Be interested to see what Fridays got.

It allways pisses me off when such a good episode doesnt get the ratings it deserves.

Dont see how people were sure it got between 1.8 and 2 million last night without seeing the figures :/

Jake. 19-08-2012 10:47 AM

Oh and didn't 4 million watch RoB after XFactor?

SSL2012 19-08-2012 10:52 AM

Abysmal ratings, the demise of bb is clearly beggining :O

Friday got between 1.77 and 2 million, that's all we know. I reckon live noms would have got 1.5ish.

Isn't it normal in the UK for less people to watch tv in the summer? Then it's not that bad if this series averages 0.3 or 0.4 less than winter's CBB. If it averages even less than that though, C5 should stop showing 3 seasons a year.
The only way BB would have worked in C5 is if they waited 3 or 4 years before it's return. Many more people would watch it.
Here in Portugal that worked. BB finished in 2003. The ratings decresed in the last season but they weren't that bad. 7 years later BB returns under the Secret Story format (witch is pretty much the same thing) and it gets as many viewers as the first BB, with the sucess continuing and this year we'll have the 3rd season.
You know, more people watch the portuguese version than the british version. And Portugal as 10M people while the UK has 62M people. That's saying something.

Yeah, but I'd imagine it's down year-on-year and all. It really should be doing a lot better.

Tbf Ch 5 are NOT maximising the brand. On channel 4 it would still be getting around 2.5million if not 3mil+ on the CBB version.

5 haven't advertised it, and continually shunt the fans and what they want.Even in it's current state, it's still one of the networks high rating earners.

A break would be good for the format i agree.

Saph 19-08-2012 04:21 PM

I wish there was a way we could know how many people record it on Sky+ and V+ and watch it on demand5, because surely that would boost ratings?

jackc1806 19-08-2012 08:06 PM

Fridays???!!!

Redway 19-08-2012 08:39 PM

Can't find Friday's anywhere, you know. :(

Jake. 20-08-2012 09:20 AM

Something which has just been posted on Digital Spy Forums:
According to Ch4 overnights, Channel 5 had a 7.1% share all day compared to Ch4 6.8% which is a few % higher than the last few days, and highest since Wednesday. Maybe CBB went over 2m?

Jake. 20-08-2012 10:03 AM

Celebrity Big Brother got 1.89m including +1, not sure what Friday's ratings was but if it was lower than that, then last night was the highest since the launch.

A pretty good rating I think!

Hi guys, I'm back, nice to see this thread whilst I was on holiday. Lol I posted those 2 previous comments on DS :p

But yeah 1.89m, not too bad to get the highest since launch. I know it's low for a CBB, but that is a rise of around 450k from Saturday which is decent!

I was thinking it was someone on here ahaha :) yeah I mean this series was never going to rate like the last, and a 450k jump is great, now we just need to know friday's.

SSL2012 20-08-2012 10:42 AM

Omg :o

BigBrotherfan4ever 20-08-2012 12:24 PM

Glad to see the ratings going back up a bit.

Redway 20-08-2012 01:13 PM

Hey there, Salv. :)

*mazedsalv** 20-08-2012 02:47 PM

For those that want to compare to CBB9, the first Sunday of CBB9 got 2.1m, so it's only 200k down on a much hotter day than it was then. Maybe tonight it could hit 2m which it could do and does deserve it. It seems that this series could get through on word of mouth.

Jarrod 20-08-2012 03:42 PM

I've seen this on Twitter regarding Friday

Highlights Show: 1.69 excluding Channel 5 +1
Live Nominations: 1.79 excluding Channel 5+1

:idc: Live Feed got HIGHER than the actual show!
