I like the interaction with the mods. TiBB would be horrid without 'human' mods and like Shaun said, the banter with the mods

..this isn't a thread about specific favourite members...or an opportunity to have a moan about things you're not happy with..(you always get gripes on any forum site and perfection is impossible)..but as we all know, this is one of the best/friendliest forums...and not just for BB fans....

..what is it you love about TiBB...?...the highlights and the 'best bits'.....

Nobody asked me to stick around, I just did lol TiBB does have lots of different things to offer but they might not be for everyone.

..I know I used the word 'persuade' in the OP Joe..but the thread was meant to be more to concentrate on the great things about TiBB, of which there are many..and even the 'moaners' keep logging back on and posting here..so it can't be as bad as they moan about, can it..?...I feel as though there has been a lot of negativity here recently, so it's always good to balance that out with the good things..especially with the new CBB posters..let them know that it's a good friendly site, if they feel like hanging around off season..more of a 'PR' thing than persuassion....

...how ironic...

Have we gone off topic here:hugesmile:I think people should be able to say how they feel 'truthfully' about the site without feeling they could get banned or jumped on,no one should have to pussy foot about,I will be honest,I used to love it here, but it's not the same now,I have met some lovely people though, they keep me here.

I agree to a point Ammi, but if I'm being honest it's not always so friendly of late is it?

I certainly wouldn't show them the same tired old posts by people that just drone on and on and on.

And on.

And on.

And on.

..I don’t understand what people expect from forum moderators..I’ve also posted on DS where ‘no moderator presence’ is felt..imo, that certainly doesn’t work..you don’t feel so protected and whether people admit it or not, there are some very ‘trollish’ and insulting members on every forum and it’s important for the people who post for the right reasons, that they feel protected from them..that they ‘feel’ the presence of moderators and also that they seem approachable and friendly..so that people feel they can go to them..that they’ll get listened to...I’ve also posted on small forums..smaller than TiBB..where like here, the mods post as regular members as well...and it also works well on them to...what would be the alternative..that forums advertise for mods..?..someone who doesn’t know or understand the forum..?...who doesn’t know the difference when certain members are joking or when they’re being intentionally provocative and insulting..?...and what sort of person would that appeal to..?...do we have to offer a salary as incentive..?...or maybe they’ll just do it for nothing because they enjoy banning/infracting people..it might have a certain appeal..to a ‘certain type’ of person...or maybe they’re a little perverted and like to be abused by people for their decisions and then be expected to not have the right to reply personally..but only as a generic mod..even though lots of snidey inferences and direct remarks to them are very much personal indeed...

...mods were members long before they became mods..and with that, they’ve made several friends as well...do we expect them to cast all friendships aside for the opportunity to become a mod..?...do we expect them to isolate themselves...lock them up in the towers and not have them interact with ‘their people’..?..create a divide..them and us..?..will we then have a wonderful forum where everyone runs happy and free...and there’s nothing to moan about..?...

..members are asked to become moderators for a very good reason...their names aren’t pulled out of a hat or anything....they are friendly, fair and open minded people who have contributed so much as regular members and gained people’s trust..who most people find approachable...they try their best to balance their mod duties with their own enjoyment of the forum...and put up with endless abuse and insults for doing it..and for giving up so much time to it..who would be better qualified to do what they do...?.who would do it better..?...nothing is perfect...NOTHING IS PERFECT..I realise that I said that twice...but so far as internet forums go..reality show based internet forums..TiBB is probably about as good as anyone is going to get...BECAUSE of the mods..and also because of the majority of members as well....and if we didn’t really believe that..then why would we keep logging back on..?...just to moan, provoke and irritate people..?...is there not an internet term for that..?...

...I would also appreciate on a personal level if some people would refrain from saying how much they respected and admired a certain past member..yet that respect isn’t so apparent that they think about her at all when they use her remembrance thread to have a snipe or criticise other members..or that they use her memory to put across their own personal gripes and for their own agenda in other threads..this being a good example..when they never showed any obvious ‘respect or admiration’ when she posted here...there certainly isn’t any secret that the member I refer to and I didn’t exactly see eye to eye for a long time..but I think I have far more respect for her memory and the good things about her, than some people obviously do...or they have a very unusual view of the meaning of respect...

..I’m very, very angry about this thread and what people have used it for...despite the OP being very clear....I’m very angry about the lack of respect shown and the lack of appreciation shown...that people feel so free to voice their very definite opinions..yet offer so little to the forum themselves....

..I request that a Moderator please close the thread now... I don’t think there’s anything left to say....
