I'm hoping this vote to evict is a lie like when the dark BB eye was a lie! But don't think it will be a lie! :(

I think it really will be a vote to evict! :(

If all the entertaining housemates start getting evicted then maybe BB might change it to vote to save?

Lowkey 12-06-2013 12:48 AM

Save and Evict both have there advantages. It's 50/50 for me. I hated Conor last year. If it was vote to evict he would have gone earlier.

billy123 12-06-2013 12:53 AM

I still think theres a good chance its a bit of a typo or miscommunication the end result of the vote is that it gets someone evicted whichever way its done.

Its also shows how strange some folk are that only 24 hours ago they were bitching and slagging off people that work on the show telling them to go back to how they used to do their job and now are crying and slagging off the show for possibly changing something back to how it always used to be done.

You cant win with people that have that limited mentality and just want everything their own way and have a hissy fit if they dont get it.

Colbert-Bump 12-06-2013 01:02 AM

Vote to Evict means evictions will be so predictable. One of the good things about Vote to Save was the viewers didn't know who would stay.

Dash Darington 12-06-2013 01:10 AM

VTE fits with their "nastier" theme.

As has been said, practically speaking it doesn't even matter unless there are three nominees.

minny03 12-06-2013 01:48 AM

I'm devastated :(

If they had been serious over vote to save they would have had a minimum of three up as in Australia. They never tried to change the whole hate culture over the show sadly, opening the door to hear the crowd at eviction interviews etc.

5 out of the 10 public votes in BB13 were instances where only 2 people were up... In the previous series out of 9 public votes in 6 of those cases more than 2 people faced the public... I fail to see in either case how having 3 or more people face the vote would have affected the outcome drastically...

The "nice" vote works in Australia because it's a family show... BBUK was still nasty in nature even when it was trying to be nice... A 3-way vote would not have changed that...

Valdora 12-06-2013 07:15 AM

I always get a chuckle on this forum how people overeact to everything. One housemate will be a model "this series is ruined!" There are clouds behind the eyes "cancel it!" and now this.

What this comes down to is that Channel 5 know that they messed up the last couple of years. Now they are doing everything in their power to tug on nostalgia to bring the fans back to the show, and vote to evict is the classic way.

Also as much as we may have liked the unpredictable aspect of VTS the general public seemed to really dislike it. I for one have found it very wierd when the presenters and crowd are not in tune with the voting.

The bottom line is that Big Brother is, and always has been, a popularity contest. It is just far easier to hate than to love, after all we're british.

starry 12-06-2013 07:59 AM

It takes a lot to change the hate mentality, but on CH5 not much effort has even been made. It isn't about it having to be a family show either, they push these stupid 'romances' just like they try to do on the Australian version.

I like it when the presenters and the stupid crowd they bring in don't get what they want. I prefer the focus being off the crowd, the fact that they have been given such importance and influence on the show and the house has been bad for the show. Big Brother when predictable is tedious, that tends to be the drawback of the American version. This version has the potential to be more unpredictable both for HMs and even sometimes for the audience. And to say that people just want to hate here is a gross distortion, and suggests that everyone loves the arsehole tabloids. They and their bigoted attitudes are the worst thing about this country.

And the eviction process is the most basic part of the show, it's way more important than clouds, how can you dismiss it as being unimportant?

daniel-lewis-1985 12-06-2013 08:06 AM

Well people on here actually need to start picking up the phone to evict the boring ones now.

Every year we have forum members moaning about the best housemates going yet 90% of you don't even vote.

Its up to the fans to keep it interesting and the casting had better be brilliant this year.

Your avatar explains EVERYTHING and makes your arguments irrelevant...

starry 12-06-2013 08:45 AM

Estelle never pushed any 'romance' on the show, she made that very clear while on it. She was popular on her own merit.

Your response is laughable... She totally pushed a romance with Ryan until she was evicted and then fucked around with Micheal near the end of the series... Estelle wasn't "popular on her own merit" she was "popular" because the public pitied her...

My point is that you only support VTS because if it were VTE Estelle would have been given the boot early on... And the series would have been better for it...

I am not saying that we all want to hate, I am saying that it is easier to react negatively than to put faith in someone.

And I did not say its not important, its very important but I will not let it ruin the show for me. The best years on Channel 4 were vote to evict and if it means exorcising the rest of the crap they changed I will take vote to evict. Now if the editing remains the same, the housemates are TOWIE rejects and the show continues to be tacky then I will complain.

@bbuk_fans 12-06-2013 10:15 AM

"Unless directed in the live show you will be voting to EVICT a housemate" on the T&C's

EDIT: ALL mentions of vote to EVICT have GONE from the T's&C's page.

Maybe it's still vote to save??

daniel-lewis-1985 12-06-2013 10:23 AM

Apparently it was just an error on the site or they have listened to forums.

The vote to evict info has now been taken down so looks like its still a vote to save.

Valdora 12-06-2013 10:24 AM

They will probably do a poll on BOTS. They seem to be pandering to us a lot this year.

The Evict thing is now GONE from the website!

They're on the ball this year aren't they!

Black Dagger 12-06-2013 10:32 AM

I'm not getting my hopes up yet though, in case they put it back up again at any point.

They also need at least 3 people up each week.
