Me too. Glenn expected to go though. All the blokes have been voted off now, so an all girl quarter final. I was hoping Beca or Frances would be next out.

According to Neil Midgley from this link to his column.

Well, now they’re all gone. And one thing we know for sure, at this point, is that the 2013 Bake Off will be won by a resolutely normal woman. Which seems to be what the producers wanted, all along.
Although I doubt the producers did. Neil is probably just irked that no men made it through to the quarter finals.

Shaun 02-10-2013 02:54 PM

just watched it

Glenn :bawling: one of my favourites.

I don't like Frances... way too uptight and stupid and annoying. And I also find Ruby dull as hell, and her fake "I don't know what I'm doing" act wore off after week 3.

Kim or Christine ftw, like Beca too.

Such a shame. He was getting better. :(

..the hazelnut dacquoise looked horrible and sickly, it really annoys me as well that they cut ridiculously hugs bits off the cakes just to have a mouthful...

Suze 09-10-2013 09:45 AM

Every time I choose a favourite this series, they are next voted off :(

Ammi 09-10-2013 09:47 AM

..so it's all your fault then Suze..those poor bakers trying so hard and not knowing that your curse is on them...

I know :bawling: I will route for Becca or the one who keeps doing the fancy food, then maybe one of those two will go next

Hit BBC Two show The Great British Bake Off is to move to BBC One for its fifth series next year.

The current series is the highest rated show on the channel so far this year, with an average audience of 7 million.

Controller of BBC One Charlotte Moore said she wanted to "bring the show to an even broader audience on BBC One".

The successful amateur baking competition is judged by Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood and fronted by Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins.

Its audience has grown from an average of 2.8 million when it first began in 2010, peaking with 7.8 million a fortnight ago.

The figure is more than last year's final, which drew a total of 7.2 million.

"I've watched the show grow over the last few years and earn a special place in the nation's hearts," said Moore, who commissioned the show in 2009 in her previous role at the BBC, alongside Janice Hadlow who is now the controller of BBC Two.

"It's been fantastic to watch it flourish on BBC Two and I can assure viewers I will continue to cherish it on BBC One."

Love Productions' Anna Beattie, who is also executive producer of the programme, said: "We're extremely proud that the show has captivated so many families and inspired so many people across the country.

"We aim to do everything we can to ensure its continuing authenticity and integrity."

The show is set to crown its newest winner next week.

I like Ruby. She tries so hard. Bless her! :joker:

Shaun 16-10-2013 01:42 PM

watching it now... Kim's canapes  and I actually liked Frances' design for a change. (but does she pay for these silly astro-turf presentation trays? if so how sad)
