My opinion is that science is God. Science is explaining the mysteries that people previously could not answer. They called those mysteries "God".

The antikythera mechanism is so fascinating! Do you know much about it? I've only ever read briefly about it, has anyone come close to explaining what it's for?

Marsh. 13-11-2013 12:40 AM

People still think of praying as like making wishes to a Genie for money and cars etc.

It's supposed to be a little more spiritual than that, like meditation. :D

It's a 2000yr old intricate clockwork mechanism that accurately plots the planets moving around I think.

I agree about praying, that annoys me too wanting is not the point is it?

erinp5 13-11-2013 01:12 PM

I don't know of anyone who uses prayer as a wish list.:nono::hugesmile:

erinp5 13-11-2013 01:34 PM

How does the prayer thing work? Is it like if you want something, you pray x amount of times, or say certain prayers and your god grants you that wish.

I don't believe in gods at all and I struggle to get to grips with the whole concept.

You see, GG, God trumps all logic. That's what faith means. It's unprovable.
