Everyone on my facebook are morons, all proclaiming Tom Daley is gay and making homophobic jokes... is this what our generation has come to?

i haven't seen anyone being homophobic in my feeds, but my year-group as a whole are pretty tolerant

Not very surprising whatsoever and I hope that he serves as a role model for young people - it's very, very rare for someone at the height of their success and fame to do something as brave as this; I do feel that he is a homosexual man claiming to be bisexual in order to test the waters - but what matters above anything else is that he's taken a very brave decision and he should be commended for that.

Why should be stay away? He shouldn't just stay away because of 'haters'. I certainly didn't stay away from my Facebook when I did it, so why should be stay away from his Twitter?

I knew someone would say that. Because haterz are inevitable. If he's capable of just ignoring the negative comments and not let it affect him, good on him but if not, it's best to stay away for a bit. One person was arrested for commenting on his dad. Unless he wants to police every hater giving himself a break doesn't have to be a bad thing.

Yeah, that's what our generation has come to when a half-century ago homosexuality was illegal.

Homophobia has been with us for as long as homosexuality itself and people these days are a damn-site more tolerant than then.

Actually I'm a bit cynical. It won't be long before people are saying "Tom Who?". I think this is a publicity stunt. To extend his moment in the spotlight and increase his earning ability. Why the hell should he need to make a video and post it worldwide just to say hes now bisexual? Its annoying?

So does that mean i should send out a video also worldwide saying im straight and im happy with being straight?

Tom Daley shouldn't need to do that, he should just be able to carry on with his life without anyone getting into hes business.. Its not that deep.
