i don't care if my opinions are popular or not.
im sorry but i don't need to explain my self to you.

..no, you don't haver to explain yourself to me or to anyone but you only have right to comment on the things you know...and there have been many 'controversial' members on here, even in the time I've been here and I'm sure many before that..yet it still hasn't had an effect on the forum or people feeling they are 'walking on eggshells' as others have said so it's a perfectly valid observation that was made in the OP, so none of your posts made any sense at all....

...but carry on, making your observations because I'm sure somehow they make some kind of sense to you but leave other people like Josy out of them because none of what you have said has any relevance at all to what her thoughts on the forum are....

if none of what i said makes any sense then you clearly don't know what your talking about!

its about observations, if i have over stepped the mark i would be infracted,

bwoty 07-12-2013 10:13 PM

I think one of the main reasons the place has gone to **** is because you're not allowed to say anything without being branded small minded/homophobic/racist ETC and having your own opinion means you're wrong.

And of course there's a few members who love to troll atm, which is very frustrating.

bwoty 07-12-2013 10:29 PM

I think the main problem is that forums aren't what they use to be. I remember about 10 years ago going on forums which were constantly busy. Now-a-days everyone uses twitter and a lot of forums have closed, or are really quiet like this one. It's a shame really but guess it's just moving with the times

MeMyselfAndI 07-12-2013 10:30 PM

lmfao Salman

Nemo123 07-12-2013 10:32 PM

Just testing if I'm still banned.

Yay for old TiBB

Glenn. 07-12-2013 10:36 PM

What the hell is going on in here then?

Ammi 08-12-2013 09:04 AM

..ok, some of my own personal 'observations' and they are just a personal perspective/opinion etc...

..the chat thread thing...I don't personally think that one member is responsible for how quiet they are..or their absence, I should say...

..I will say though, that I would like to see Scott's ban very seriously reviewed and that's not just because of my personal feelings and that I consider him a friend...I think in general and for many reasons and for a lot of members, 2013 hasn't been the best of years on TiBB...but in order to move on to 2014 and just better times/a better forum/more 'united' forum etc..so much is and has to be 'left behind'/moved on from....things hurt, yes..many things have this year and have also been 'firsts' so rules etc haven't necessarily covered them and things have sometimes felt unclear and therefore frustrating..which I think leads up to these bad feelings anyway, the frustrations of hearing/seeing things said about you and not having any voice in response...anyway, words can only hurt you if you allow them to..(thank you, very wise person..)... if they're not let go of then nothing will ever change and the circles will keep revolving...

..the 'back in the day' TiBB for me was on the whole a 'community'...and I think that's what made it so special/so different/unique...people talk about 'cliques'..I don't like that word but I also on the whole, don't agree with it...there are certainly 'groups/friendship groups' etc...who, I guess, over time and maybe because of the not so good things on the forum, have chosen other sites to chat on etc and then often kind of stay within those friendship groups on TiBB, so it kind of branches out into lots of different 'sets of people', rather than be 'one'..which is natural and understandable but it does have a huge impact on what is quite a small forum anyway...

...also, and for instance, the Razzies...I understand why some people see it as less like 'fun/lighthearted' and more like an opportunity to snipe...I don't see it as any worse than many things but that's just my personal perspective and I have to say, I've never actually been quite sure of it, but realise that it does provide balance and so, just make my own decisions about voting etc and respect what other people want and why they want it, which is the same as I do with ML and anything else...and I don't know, maybe James is right in cancelling/banning it...but for me, it's not so much that but more taking away the voice of the members, and kind of disregarding any feelings/thoughts about something which has been seen as a 'tradition'...in my experience and in life in general, taking away a 'voice' won't solve anything at all but just lead to more frustrations/make things worse...and specifically with the Razzies...so if it's banned because it allows snipes/insults etc..ok, that's cool but then also reinforce that by more sanctions for those same snipes in other areas of the forum/in general threads when so many times, there are personal comments and not 'topic ones'....because in reality, the cancelling of the Razzies only bans those snipes for one evening and they really are not a 'one night only' thing....so what really is achieved 'to the benefit of the forum'....just really not very much, if anything at all....

..apologies if this post is disjointed/doesn't make sense but I have a migraine and am just trying to gather thoughts together...

Oh I went there! :spin:

Kyle 08-12-2013 09:23 AM

Nah there's definitely cliques on here. There are at least four (including one I'm reputed to be a part of).

Ammi 08-12-2013 09:24 AM

..oh and I will also say..(and I don't think I've commented on this before, only because I didn't personally 'observe' all of it, so don't tend to comment on stuff I only 'hear' about..)...

..when I keep saying about 'perspective'..it's because whether others feel the same or not, some people do find much needed light-hearted things about the Razzies, yet it's seen by others as a negative... but if you take the perceived positive things like ML, that's not seen as a positive by everyone either and for equally good and valid reasons...I wish that people would try more to slip out of their own personal likes/dislikes of members and try to see things from others' perspectives and what it would feel like to genuinely receive votes from members for something like that..people who have taken the time to vote for you because they genuinely like you/like your posts/humour/thought process etc...and you have a great placing, which should feel like an amazing, humbling thing...and then to have it taken away from you by people saying you don't deserve it/someone else deserved it etc...how must that feel, to someone..?...is that a positive feeling..and something that people would want to feel..?....

EDIT:..and yet people say all the time/genuinely feel it to be true...'oh yes, I have empathy'....

Ammi 08-12-2013 09:41 AM

..oh and also, sorry afterthought person...

...I think my own personal annoyance and opinion is of people saying things like...this is definitely how it is/bias etc..just so many things...and of course everyone has an opinion which is their right and so frequently expressed on forums as that's the purpose of them..but it isn't 'definitely how it is'..it's just their own personal perspective/view of it...and reasons they have for having that have view, but it doesn't make it 'reality..'...and understanding why people have their opinions is the key to solving most things in life that are possible to solve..and that can only be done through listening/talking/communicating and not through the taking away of voices/closed threads etc...but people have to talk to and not talk at...and listen...
