Probably the best writer I have discovered recently is Iain Rob Wright. His writing style is very free flowing and exciting. I read his book ravage in 3 days, which is very unusual for me, normally takes me weeks to finish a book.
It's about a zombie apocalypse, if you like The Walking Dead you'll love it. I'm reading The Final Winter at the moment, which again is about the apocalypse where it starts snowing heavily everywhere in the world, and it focuses on groups of people in a town in England. If you're going to get a new one consider getting the Kindle Fire HD instead. Tablet/Ereader all in one.

get a kindle fire hd. You can read books on tablets but if you get a kindle it makes you read more. I love my kindle.
