Breakdown for the launch.

As for last night, 1.75m is pretty decent. It was lower than the 2.15m of CBB12 first show but up from the 1.71m from CBB10 first show. Great share of 11% too. Apparently it was 2ND in the slot, as the ITV news was lower at 10pm. It was only behind BBC1

My heart's doing more dubstep.. 2ND IN IT'S SLOT! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

JoshBB 20-08-2014 09:27 PM

2) Dee
3) Edele
4) Leslie
5) James (+3)
5) Kellie
6) Lauren (-2)
7) Stephanie (+6)
9) David (+5)
10) Audley (+4)
11) Claire (+1)
12) George (+1)

Well it managed to get 1.63m (10.3%) / 107K (1.2%) = 1.74m (11.5%)

- It nearly doubled BBC Two's 'Some People with Jokes' - 900K (5.3%)

- It doubled Kitchen Nightmares, exc. +1, and with +1 included was still 650K stronger! It got 1.1m (7.5%)

Amazing - even though a low rating for CBB.. to question it coming second in every slot is pretty impressive, the overall share of nearly 12% is great too!

To break down last night's ratings compared with previous CBB's second episode: (all inc. +1)

CBB13 (Win) had a share of 9.3% and 1.85m viewers overnight
CBB12 (Sum) had a share of 11.1% and 2.15m viewers overnight.
CBB11 (Win) had a share of 8.9% and 2.0m viewers overnight.
CBB10 (Sum) had a share of 9.3% and 1.71m viewers overnight.

Although this episode rates as the second least viewed of the previous 4 series for their second episode (the one after launch) it had by far the strongest share.. which in terms of advertisement.. is good news for C5 bosses! This as we now is due to the fact less people are watching live TV, so hopefully that super strong share is evident for it's continued success!

Why don't the people on twitter, fan bases, the news, tabloids, papers, etc. ever focus on the good side of the ratings!

Same happens with all shows especially the ITV reality shows

Thanks for the info Kai!

According to Botherbar... 1.96m incl +1 (9.7%).

Brilliant, climb of over 200k. Bothersbar usually does not tapecheck its shows, so when DS updates, it could actually have hit 2m! :D

The share is very good, I wonder what they will call tomorrow episode as there's no eviction and that should give it a climb with the ratings, strange how CBB 13 had a similar overnight, so it could possibly grow.

CBB13 didn't have similar overnight its 3rd episode got 2.92 officially so its overnight wouldn't have been a million viewers lower.

This series deserves to be matching that but summer series never rate as well and after BB15 im impressed people have returned.

I think it will still climb the +1 rating is really good (203k) so obviously words getting round about the whole Gary situation via social media and people are starting to switch on.

I think if this was on in January with this mix of housemates it would probably be the highest rated CBB so far.

mrmattybeck1 21-08-2014 11:28 AM

Wow what a great rating

*mazedsalv** 21-08-2014 12:30 PM

It will probably drop tonight because Educating Yorkshire returns with a one year on doc. Will easily be over 2.5m surely? And it has the same sort of demo as CBB.

Anyway, CBB came 2ND IN ITS SLOT. Fair it can do that at 10pm, but in the 9pm hour, very, very rare, the launch didn't even do that.

Includes +1:

BBC1- Operation Wild: 3.29m
BBC2- Horizon: 1.38m
ITV- Secrets from the Asylum: 1.92m
CH4- Undercover Boss- 1.59m
CH5- Celebrity Big Brother- 1.96m

The Mimic at 10pm on Ch4 ended with a poor 307k excl +1.

To be fair though, 1.92 being second in the slot implies not a lot of people were watching tv last night doesn't it?
Still, great stuff. :) anything for bots and the live feed?

Yep that's true.
590k for BOTS (around 7% share), nothing for the feed as of yet.

Another note... CBB12 next few ratings after the first HL show were... 1.64m (Saturday), 1.67m, 1.94m and 1.95m, before the first eviction. So last night was higher than all of them.

It would definitely be a very successful series if this was winter one, yeah I didn't watch last night for the first time but recorded it, the word of Gary must have got around with the +1 being high

CBB fell a little as expected because of competition, but still managed to stay strong. Brutal for ITV who came last in its slot!

9pm:

WDYTYA- 4.3m (BBC1)
Educating Yorkshire- 1.9m (CH4)
CBB- 1.8m (CH5)
The Honourable Woman- 1.6m (BBC2)
Diary of a Children's Hospital- 1.4m (ITV)

Very close between those four channels!!

CBB may have dropped but still up on the first HL show :)

BB smashing ITV this week :clap1:

*mazedsalv** 22-08-2014 09:41 AM

Just to note that CBB14 so far is getting exactly the same ratings as CBB10 and CBB12.

CBB10 averaged 2.2m officially (1.8m overnight)
CBB12 averaged 2.3m officially (1.9m overnight).

*mazedsalv** 22-08-2014 09:53 AM

1.84m incl +1 :)

Rob! 22-08-2014 10:26 AM

Good rating - Educating Yorkshire didn't do that great then really.
Was there anything for the last live feed segment?
