Could someone be able to explain:

Spoiler:

How only certain sensates are able to see people outside of their cluster?

Braden 07-05-2017 07:16 PM

Okay, so:

Spoiler:

That definitely got better towards the end. idk if it's because I couldn't remember much from the first season, but I felt the transition was quite disjointed (the Christmas special, though I loved it, didn't really help much either :p). Episodes 7-10 were the best, I felt that was when the season started to pick up its pace and become exciting.

The downfalls, for me, were:

- how complicated The Whispers element became (was that just me?), I still don't understand it.
- I don't know if I like the inclusion of other sensates (the Scottish guy, particularly, was pointless imo).
- some of the moments were far too cringe-worthy to endure. I know the show prides itself on equality but a lot of it felt cliche.
- with the characters who aren't sensates, I find a few of those who integrate within their cluster/dynamic quite awkward (case in point: the random guy who helps Nomi and Aminata & Will's cop friend).

It's still really fun though. And now, for a character ranking:

Sun: is a bad-ass. I enjoyed her sub-plot the most.
Lito: is really lovable. I really liked how he and his bf embraced his former beard, but she's kinda useless now :( his moments with Sun were the best part of the season <3 also had a good sub-plot
Nomi: I totally didn't realise how bad of an actress Jamie Layton is, but it still works for me. she and Aminata need to drop the other guy, but I love her inclusion and their relationship
Wolfgang: when he nutted that evil bitch>>>>. everyone loves a badboy (aka: ****able)
Kala: really don't care for her sub-plot, though it did seem to perk up towards the end. the characters in her world felt really boring and it almost made me not care for her. I loved her random out-of-character bad-chick moments though
Riley: appreciated her moments by herself, but was too tied down with Will to love
Will: I like him, but the whole 'I'm a mess because I've been captured by The Whispers so I need someone to frequently inject heroin into my veins' wore thin...literally by the Christmas episode. I like him outside of that scenario
Capheus: I think I've warmed to the new actor fairly easily, but I still prefer the other one. his sub-plot was probably the worst though. I liked his love interest but then she randomly disappeared towards the end? she was the only positive that storyline. and his mum <3

But yeah, I wouldn't say I'm as much of a fan as I was when I completed season 1 (unfortunately), but I think its still perked my interest a little bit. maybe it's a good thing that I was underwhelmed, if season 3 comes and I have low expectations it might please me a bit more.

I think if they see them in real life then they can visit them whenever. Like the Scottish guy saw Riley at the club and was then connected to her. That girl saw Wolfgang at the gangsters house and was connected to him. Etc.

Just finished Season 2, this show is honestly one of the best things I have ever watched, it's such a beautiful yet gripping show :worship:

Spoiler:

I'm a tad disappointed that at least one of the Sun's brother/Whispers storylines didn't get wrapped up this season, like I feel that not that much was really accomplished between the first episode and last episode of this season, but nonetheless I still loved all the stories and sub-plots, I definitely think I'm gonna rewatch S1 at some point too to refresh my memory

Sun still remains the best character :clap1: Although I love them all really (except Will,
and Riley too I suppose but she has her moments)

Out of the non-sensates I really love Aminata and Daniela  Although I'm worried that a big non-sensate character is going to die in the next season for a dramatic storyline, like Aminata or Capheus's Mother :worry: (Will's father doesn't count because no one cares about him x)

Is it confirmed that there's going to be a Season 3?

Oh and it still fascinates me how they manage to film all these scenes all over the world and make it seem so smooth and effortless :flutter:

Devastating news, Sense8 has been cancelled and won't be getting a Season 3 :(

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...etflix-1009404

Makes the cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 all the more frustrating.

I'm sooo angry. Some people are saying they hope that they get a movie of some sorts to finish it off.

Mystic Mock 03-06-2017 04:39 AM

Just as Kala was finally about to have a purpose to the show, Netflix decide to cancel it.

Although I'm not liking some of the Tweets indicating that Netflix are appealing to the straight white men crowd as alot of those people would've been watching Sense8, it's not our fault for why a unique show got cancelled, it's the cheap skates who only wants to create Comedies and Marvel shows.

RedClouds 05-06-2017 12:33 AM

I feel like pulling an Angellica after netflix cancelling Sense8...

In the episode where Sun is being strangled by the fake prison guards it brought a smile to my face when Riley said "No Problem we're family" when Sun thanked the sensates for helping her :hee:

Shaun 05-06-2017 01:19 AM

:( only just heard about the cancellation

Braden 05-06-2017 01:13 PM

Me too

idk how to feel about it. My opinions is that S2 didn't live up to S1 (which was hands down one of the best things I've ever watched), but that may have been due to high expectations. It's sad that it's been cancelled because the cast seemed to really love each other/working for the show.

I loved Freema's tweet. It sums the show up perfectly.

I feel like the S2 finale was rushed, like they crammed everythig into the last episode, I feel like they should've given S2 one or two more episodes and Netflix should've given it time. But then again for most shows I watch its common for S2 for anything to not continue the great levels S1 reached oh well.

I really wanted to see Wolfgang and Kala tie the knot 😭😢😢

Yeah, it sucks that they left the ending so open. I feel, out of respect, the show should still be given 3/4 special episodes to wrap everything up.

Braden 10-06-2017 01:03 AM

I know it's old news, but Netflix have officially confirmed—even after petitions and outrage—Sense8 has definitely come to an end:

Locke. 11-06-2017 08:48 AM

It was a great show that should have got a third season but the whole cancelling your Netflix subscription because they cancelled it is incredibly stupid. Maybe thank them instead for giving the show a chance, funding it in the first place, and bringing it into the world. There is no other TV network, streaming service, or online service capable of creating Sense8 with the budget needed and how complicated it is to shoot with all the different locations per scene, so if it wasn't for Netflix it probably never would have existed, unless it was created as a film instead.

I remember reading that if Fringe was ever cancelled before reaching its natural conclusion that they were planning on releasing comic books to wrap up the story. Maybe something similar like that could work here.

It looked like they were going down that road for you aswell.

A final two-hour episode has been commissioned for next year:

Headie 29-06-2017 06:59 PM

Just came here to post that, I'm happy they're not leaving it unresolved :clap1:

Plus, I feel like once the Whispers/Sun's brother storylines are resolved there wasn't really much progression left for the show

Braden 29-06-2017 07:12 PM

:clap1:

I'm glad there'll be closure to the show.

Mystic Mock 29-06-2017 08:02 PM

Yes!

Firewire 29-06-2017 08:07 PM

So glad it gets a proper send off

Samm 30-06-2017 12:51 AM

netflix uncanceled, but good on them thought listening to the out cry can't think of many companies that would do that

Jessica. 30-06-2017 01:48 AM

Yay, I was holding off on watching s2 because I was sad about the cancellation but at least it gets an ending now and I can feel like it's complete

The Season 2 finale is something worth seeing.

Tom4784 02-07-2017 10:32 PM

I'll get round to watching this now that it'll have an actual ending.
