These people are attempting to enter the country ILLEGALLY. It shouldn't be allowed.

I appreciate they are not coming her via the correct channels, to simply slap a label of criminal on each and every one is a very blinkered view.

they do it with false documents, by lying, by whatever means gets them the cash. Do you honestly believe they enter the UK illegally and then become model citizens that don't break the law. I really do wonder at the naivety shown over these issues

I'm not sure why you keep attempting to patronise me with your accusations of naivety.
If every illegal immigrant has access to forged paperwork then why are there 13 immigration removal centres, surely they all have the correct documentation waiting for them so they can claim benefits?

'A television presenter in Germany has triggered a huge online debate after calling for a public stand against the growth of racist attacks on refugees.

Anja Reschke used a commentary slot on Tagesthemen, the nationwide news bulletin of German public broadcaster ARD,to lambast hate-filled commentators whose language she said had helped incite arson attacks on refugee homes.

She said she was shocked at how socially acceptable it had become to publish racist rants under real names.

“Until recently, such commentators were hidden behind pseudonyms, but now these things are being aired under real names,” she said.

“Apparently it’s no longer embarrassing – on the contrary, in reaction to phrases like ‘filthy vermin should drown in the sea’, you get excited consensus and a lot of ‘likes’.

“If up until then you had been a little racist nobody, of course you suddenly feel great,” she said in the two-minute commentary.

The segment went viral within minutes of being broadcast, and by Thursday afternoon had been viewed more than 9m times, clocked up more than 250,000 likes, 20,000 comments, and had been shared more than 83,000 times on Facebook.'

..I think it's very much being awake and realistic to think that putting up higher fences/tightening borders etc isn't going to stop this because it isn't going to stop more migrants from coming/where one is stopped more will come so what does anything like that achieve ultimately..?..this is becoming much more than an immigration issue, it's a humanitarian issue and it has to be addressed as such by all European countries, which it isn't effectively being....

..and by your way, of saying that they're here for one thing/'to scrounge'..?...that's very similar to saying that all on benefits are scroungers so let's just cut everyone's benefits off and then we'll get the ones taking advantage....

rubymoo 08-08-2015 07:28 AM

It's a mess.....the whole thing is just one massive mess that's not being dealt with. I think the problem in hand is that the migrants are there, they are people, and they need to be processed, they have been through many safe countries before they got here, and they should be taken back to the first safe country and processed there........and then they should blow up the channel tunnel, we are an island, we were meant to be an island.

It's sad because who said we should stay in certain countries, why shouldn't there be a free flow of destination choices?

The problem as i see it is that they are fleeing their countries......why.......that's the issue that needs to be dealt with.

My heart broke a little to see small children being taken off a dinghy in Kos....families, they seem to have a vision that Europe is paved with gold and opportunities, one refugee said he thought Europe offered hope, but as he looked around (at the thousands of refugees) he realised there is no hope.

I don't know what the solution is, what i do know is that if i wanted better for my family, and was living under a threat, i would want to improve their lives and future, isn't that what we all want?

migrant crisis compared to "long dark tunnel - 90's underground tune" 08.08.15

its not the 90's reborn
jungle mania is not sitting stocky
no DJ will scorn
not even "Debt or Brockie".
yes it is a long dark tunnel
i am not advocating speed
forget about any record better then sally gunnel
now one has done it this drip will bleed.
new fencing up in france
shinny silver barb wire
but the camps are better then any rave dance
what ever they supply these "ravers" won't tire.
smugglers are operating
yes the doormen close a eye that's blind
as long as a pound note is calculating
eventually in the UK they will wind.
france does not want this venue
they are suggesting the UK is a better rave scene
now the "navigator" is on the menu
the long dark tunnel tune is obscene.
i don't no the solution
the current laws we need to wave
this tunnel is letting in good and pollution
the question is how much longer is this rave.

18 'Illegal Immigrants' Found In Lorry On M1

And the Polish Driver is Arrested.

[Police have discovered 18 suspected
illegal immigrants stowed away
in a lorry stopped by officers on the M1 motorway.
Officers stopped the vehicle after a member
of the public called to report "suspicious activity"
on the lorry as it travelled along the M25 in Hertfordshire.]

[Many migrants are genuinely
fleeing for their lives
. Most are economic opportunists
paying gangsters big money to
take them where they want to go.
Ever-increasing numbers, a record
107,000 last month, have sparked dismay
across Europe, not just in the UK.
But scenes from Calais of angry
and determined young men banging
on the door to Britain is stoking particular
outrage this side of the Channel.
What gives them the right to demand entry?
Yet there is a noisy minority on the
political left who not only oppose border controls.]

the fact that anti immigration, parties are very strong here in europe, the swedish democrats, could take second or first place, and are top in the polls, the left have failed to get it, that the more you let in, the more the right wing get stronger, the fact that the left wing parties, have failed to put the needs of there voters first, Im sorry to say this, but europe is going to the far right, because every government has thrown its own people to the wolves, and has given outsiders, every thing they need, you can't blame the people for voting to the right, because there are so few options that other parties will deliver,

Exactly.A left wing party who will take a mature stand on border controls is desperately needed.People feel they have no option but to veer to the right because the left wing parties are weak on immigration.
