It would take a lot more though than just feeling creeped out for Helen to go and complain to BB. In the past Helen defended Jeremy Jackson after groping Chloe and said "that girl has ruined this poor guy's life" - she later went on to befriend Chloe and take her side when she got the full story, but just using that example and Helen's general complaining that housemates go "whinging" too much to the diaryroom would mean that Helen would be very reluctant and it would take something major for her to actually make a formal complaint probably for fear of looking like a hypocrite to her followers if she did. Plus they had just entered the house and maybe she just wanted to brush off the incident and carry on with their task and re-entering the main house. But I can absolutely believe that she did find Brian creepy but can also see a number of reasons why she didn't want to make a big deal out of it and complain even if she was creeped out.

I'm not saying Helen is correct in her assessment of Brian as a creep, as how the heck would I know never met the guy, and by all accounts his friends on the telly describe him as a very sweet guy, but I can say that I can see why she might have come to that conclusion.

It wasn't just the one odd naked incident, there seems to have been a buildup of comments, behaviour and rows that led her (and Marc) to form this opinion of Brian.

In my own opinion, that frozen naked duck thing at breakfast time with no alcohol taken might possibly have just been a very strange attempt at humour by Brian and was meant to be harmless but I can still see why somebody could read it differently and feel uncomfortable. The several outbursts of explosive temper which we did get to witness that seemed to come out of nowhere from Brian would make think the person was a bit unhinged (anger management wise) so I could understand them being baffled and wary by that. Maybe this paired with the things we didn't get to see explains to some extent why Helen and Marc felt Brian was a "weirdo" or a bit of a "psycho".

Again I'm not saying they are necessary correct, but I'm just trying to see it from both sides really. We have got to repeatedly hear Brian and Nikki give their explanations for how Helen and Marc made them feel, got to hear them repeatedly explain what horrible vile scum they felt Helen and Marc are, and got to hear their explanations for losing their temper with Helen. So if they get to sit on telly or sell their stories to papers giving their side explaining their feelings and their angry reactions in the house, then why shouldn't Helen get a chance to give her side and explanation of events too?

Again her giving the backstory/explanation does not justify the two words she called him and she makes that clear herself, this is more just a story of her own time in the house and the build up of why the two didn't get along in the first place imo.

Great post Pink Pegausus thank you for that i was losing all hope of reading a balanced post without an agenda today.
Faith restored.

That frozen duck was intimidating. How could a sane person do that after just meeting someone? Clearly he's a few bricks short of a wall.

Agreed. He only just met her and the first thing he does is strip naked and call himself a frozen duck.

Wtf is that about...??? He's got serious problems.

Yeah I do mate, he did after he was bullied by Helen remember pal? He caused more than enough 'carnage' with his arguments with Helen across the two weeks mate

Doesn't excuse his behavior and perving about in the Timebomb bunker does it...??? He did this before any arguments occurred between the pair.

Helen didn't bully him it was him who pursued her everytime and then jumped the wall because his ugly side was showing this time round that he hid so well during the first stint on BB8.

You're right there about him causing carnage with his arguments. He CAUSED them ALL because he went looking for trouble like the bad tempered mug he is.

Helen was defending herself.

..great post Peggy I always love reading your thoughts......she may have felt that Brian was on oddball, I mean it was quite an oddball thing to do and not at breakfast time and could you please not 'frozen duck' right next to me, Brian etc...my thoughts though are that her ‘reluctance to have gone to the DR..’..were that although it happened/the frozen duck thing, there was quite a bit omitted from ‘the whole of it..’...after it all, when they were all discussing their ‘chaos’ they would cause in the house, Brian kept saying to Marc...’I thought that you would get it..’ because I think it was more a complete ‘misjudgement’ or a ‘too far’ from him...and Marc’s response was that it had been the timing of it more than anything while they were all eating their cereal etc and oooops pops up Brian with his frozen duck..I mean..what, I’m eating my cornflakes here and could you give us a little warning first..?....also when they were having their ‘after the frozen duck’ talk and Marc was talking about flipping beds etc..Brian said..’and I’ll do the frozen duck..’...and both Marc and Helen said, yes do that ...Helen even said pleeeease do it....Marc said for Brian to do it in the garden by the pool so ..no we don’t want to see it quite so up close, thanks but still please do it..?... Marc was even a bit worried that Brian was ‘bottling it’ because he had been in the ‘sin bin’ for half a day so obviously Brian had realised that it was quite a dubious thing after all/his interpretation of a frozen duck.....I honestly can’t believe that I’m typing this frozen duck stuff......but Marc was insisting it was just a timing thing and that he should do it in the house as part of all of their 'plan'...but all through the conversation, Helen was vocal in encouraging Brian and also laughing and looking very comfortable...so what really could have been ‘reported’ in the DR...that he was naked..?...but hmmmm/Harry so really no...for doing it while they were eating breakfast and without warning/in close proximity to Helen if it was..?...so really less ‘reluctance’ from what I see but more nothing really to ‘complain’ because of their vocal ‘approval’ of it but much less so approving of the timing of it ...and yeah, probably much awkwardness if he had been in the ‘sin bin’ for half a day because they didn’t realise his version of the frozen duck....

..anyways there are a few things in the article that don’t quite correlate for me and are contradictory, whether ‘manipulated’ by Helen herself or the newspaper/I really don’t know....

"I didn't say anything, I didn't want to enrage him, I just found his behaviour the strangest I've ever come across. It was frightening.
"And for me not to say anything, that means I'm intimidated because we know I don't hold back."

..and yet she completely goaded him later on in the house which she herself admitted to...would someone do that to someone that you ‘didn’t want to enrage’ or a person they felt intimidated by..?..yeah in the safety of people around and being in BB but she had that in the bunker as well with Nikki and Marc and the eyes of BB....

..also... "Considering what I've done for a job in the past and how open-minded I am with people," "I did not want to be left in a room with him. You could tell by my body language."

"I don't enjoy arguing. When I said those remarks, I'd just had enough of him. If he hadn't have left, I'd have gone.
"We had previously spoken about my past, I was very honest with him about having been an escort and listened as he told me stuff in private, yet he threw everything back in my face.’’

..so she felt so uncomfortable as to not want to be left in a room alone with him but he told her stuff in private/they had private chats...so alone together chats..?....and she was ok with that..?..

..I do agree with you in that she does have the right to say her story as well as Brian and Nikki or any of the housemates....and Helen's gone now, Brian's gone now, Nikki's gone now and hopefully Aisleyne as well soon and hopefully we'll get more of the frozen ducks of the civilian housemates as they really I do think, have been frozen in time the last few weeks and this is their show...time to unfreeze them....

She sounds pretty upset to me. She shouldn't have to feel frightened or worried that asking him why he's naked could possible enrage him further.

He should've been removed for this and that whole article shows how truly vile this man really, really is. Helen was clearly the victim in all this and he sounds OBSESSED with the poor woman.

Rorkimaru 28-06-2015 05:23 PM

I don't think it's much worse than some stuff Marc or Harry have done but it is weird and she's entitled to have disliked it even if she wasn't threatened and she's free to give her thoughts on it since it is a thing which happened.

cassieparis 28-06-2015 05:26 PM

I'm surprised she hasn't claimed to have found him rifling through personal belongings or her frigging purse while she was clutching her pearls!
It farcical and the rolling trolling from left stage on this thread is ridiculous. People who cry fear and intimidation when they have been caught and shown to be utter and complete bisches ....... :yuk: pondlife !!

I've done a bit of research on 'the frozen duck' (can't believe I'm typing these words either   ) and it seems Brian may have been imitating a BB Australia housemate who did some naked thing called "the frozen chicken" - the housemate who did this last year in BB Australia apparently went on to win the show so maybe Brian thought it was hilarious. But yeah, timing was completely wrong at the breakfast table, and I would be completely freaked the feck out if someone I'd just met did that when I was trying to eat my croissant. If Helen and Marc were later laughing about it though then they must have later seen a funny side to it (maybe if he explained it to them), but think we both see why it was so weird at first! (seriously, what has my life become that I am researching frozen ducks and frozen chickens, I despair..... :) )

Like I said though I don't think that was the only thing that bothered Helen (and she must have not been bothered by it as much later when she knew it was a jokey thing) but she seems to have a found a number of other comments and behaviour odd or that built up to give her an overall bad 'vibe' about him.

The thing about not wanting to enrage him but then later going on to just goad and let rip on him she explains by saying that she had just finally had enough of his outbursts.

Quote:

She said: "He had a glazed expression over his face, with absolute hatred in his eyes.

"The only thing that made me feel safe is that I had cameras everywhere because that's how strange of a person I think he is.

"I don't enjoy arguing. When I said those remarks, I'd just had enough of him. If he hadn't have left, I'd have gone.

"We had previously spoken about my past, I was very honest with him about having been an escort and listened as he told me stuff in private, yet he threw everything back in my face.

"He called me a 'Dementor', said I was 'cheap', shouted 'you make your money out of being a scumbag', and the worst, 'how are you a mother?'.

so she explains it as she finally just snapped bigtime.

I've watched that argument a couple of times now, and most won't agree but just in relation to the bit where she is supposed to be intimidated but yet goads him - the bit where a lot of people are saying "poor Brian was just innocently sitting there near tears and not retaliating and she kept going for him - what a bully" it did not really look exactly that way to me.

He was just after giving a long speech about what terrible people he thought the pair of them were, when Helen said "everyone in this house knows where they stand with me" he immediately started to jump in again raising his voice about to argue about himself and Helen until Helen said, "not you, not you I'm talking about everyone in the house" at which point he did shut up but he sat there glaring at her. This is when she said "you're gonna lose it again aren't you, look at the aggression in your face, if the camera's weren't here what would you do, ask yourself that" - we get shown a shot of Brian for a couple of seconds trembling and glaring but imo it was in sheer anger and temper like he was about to explode not really a tearful frightened trembling. This was kinda proven when just a few seconds later she says "if you want me to antagonize ya I feckin will!" we can't see Brian's face at this exact point but it seems he's making faces/licking his lips at her when she said it- because she says "oh yeah look at him licking his lips!" - we then get shown a quick shot of Brian beaming wildly at her, it was like they were both goading and antagonising each other really at this point.

Later in the next scene though I can see that she definitely did goad him even more by saying "straight jacket's in the storeroom" "psycho" and by saying "keep playing into my hands", this was in response to him first saying to her "this woman has no principles, morals, or self respect and she acts like she just walked out of a dustbin" (this and possibly other personal insults to her about her past, we did hear him calling her a dirty old prozzie and stuff before, this morals and dustbin comments all happened before she went way overboard with her own insults).

I can't and would never even try or want to defend what she said he looked like, because it was just so completely over the top and a terrible thing to say. The only bit I disagree about a little bit with some people is that Brian was just sitting there about to cry out of being upset and she bullied him. At the start imo they were both goading and insulting each other and she had seen Brian flip a few times already so I think that's what she meant when she said "you're gonna lose it again aren't you" and she was just fed up of his outbursts at her. And he did look like he was about to explode in temper not run away crying imo. She says that she felt a bit intimidated by his outbursts before but the way she reacts to act is to fight back harder and to not allow anybody to let her feel intimidated. Helen will always fight back and has always fought back in every argument no matter how she's feeling ((it's a bit of a strange logic but I think that's the explanation she's trying to give, whether it's true or not I don't know)

I'm just trying to understand her explanation of how she says she was intimated by his outbursts but why she could then snap and went on to not step down and let him get angrier and say things like "what would you do if the cameras weren't here". Maybe she genuinely did feel like he was trying to intimidate her but she had strength because she knew she was safe in the house and so fought back.
(I don't personally think or have any evidence that Brian would have gotten violent with her, but he does have a very scary temper as does Helen to some people I suppose, he just seems to flip very quickly and comes across a bit unpredictable in his temperament which could be unsettling) Whatever her reasons she felt the need to stand her ground and either attack or defend depending on the way you view it. Maybe it's a bit of both. I don't think she's used to people responding so angrily and shouty with her and she reacted in a way that was even worse again than her usual tempers.

Still absolutely 100% wrong for saying he looked like a rapist though. No defending that, and there was no need to throw those words in at what seemed to be nearly the end or breaking up of the argument.

Such crazy topics we end up discussing on this forum -Outrageous insults, frozen ducks/chickens, what next?! Sometimes I can see why my oh refuses to watch the show. :D
