2.2m is quite disappointing, TBH. I would've thought because:

a) It was only 2 years ago when CBB12 was launching with 3.2m, which is 1m more.
b) It's lower than last years CBB14 launch which averaged 2.8m.
c) It had a gap whereas the above launched 3 days after the civilian series. The gap meant more promotion and media attention for CBB, so you'd think it would rate higher.
d) That 2.2m is lower than the BB14/BB15 launches. To think a civilian series last year launched higher than a summer celebrity series, which usually rates around half a million more.

It'll probably go up to 2.4m in officials, but that's still a low rating, or am I just being negative? :worry:

Good share, though.

It rated 2.8m officially. The overnight figure is always lower than the official rating and the official is one taken into account.

Yeah but you can't compare overnights with officials. It's 200k down in overnights which isn't that bad, wait til the officials to compare officials

Yeah, probably by 200k

Will. 28-08-2015 01:02 PM

decent, BB14 had 500k more viewers than BB16 so 2.2 is good considering BB16.

Rob! 28-08-2015 01:05 PM

It'll probably fall to about 1.6 tonight and then settle around the 1.4 mark.

mrmattybeck1 28-08-2015 01:24 PM

No there is no ratings crisis.

lewis111 28-08-2015 02:31 PM

Your throught their was with the way ppl go on

EspeonBB 28-08-2015 04:45 PM

The launch rating isn't that bad. Obviously it's down on last year but viewership in general is continuously declining year-to-year. I did think the success of CBB15 and the fact they did promo for it would cause higher ratings though

IMO not really, the line up is very good for entertainment and they should make a fab series.

The UK line up is decent, a few well known faces, Sherrie, Gail, Bobby and Chris are all Celebs and we won't get that much bigger for CBB overall.

The US line up is amazing, there going to make this series, obvs there not that famous apart from Janice really, but we won't really know any of the USA ones unless it's a huge name.

Like if we went to US and said do you know of sherrie Hewson to an American they wouldn't know, when in the UK she's well known - there mostly famous in their own country.

I really think this series will be great, as Petemitch said the whole of last night was more exciting than the whole 10 weeks of BB16.

I think that a lot will tune back in as we all known what this series will probs be like, plus the whole task last night with Farrah and Tash was brilliant and should make people continue to watch.

IMO I think there's a real buzz/great feel about this series which BB16 didn't have.

Jason. 28-08-2015 05:10 PM

Will speaking sense :clap2:

I just hope it's not one of those series which start out fantastically well, and fizzle out after the first or second week like CBB14 and to some extent CBB15 (which became more tiresome if anything). I remember people saying the first few days of CBB14 were more entertaining than the awful BB15 last summer, but look how that series turned out.

Very true! I think it would be difficult for the series to fizzle out with the cast as there aren't really any "bores" - well hopefully.

If I remember with CBB14 on launch I thought Audrey, George, Edele, David, Lauren and Ricci would be bores.

Like it felt like they had just been fillers and there wasn't really a reason to why they were selected to enter if that make sense.

Like the reality TV contestants this year you can tell have been put it for a reason I think.

CBB12 and CBB14 had Mario and Charlotte and Lauren and Ricci, the only one that bought any entertainment was Charlotte, it's almost as if bosses just copied the CBB12 line up for CBB14 with a transgender, one from TOWIE and Geordie etc but just different people.

The whole CBB16 line up seems to have been chosen for a reason.

CBB16 line up hasn't followed any series, its unique like CBB10.

mrmattybeck1 29-08-2015 12:52 AM

So far so good I'm really enjoying it apart from the lame tasks

Good share, though.

You are comparing the overnight to the officials in the start of your post! CBB14 launched with 2.4 overnight so only 200k higher and after the car crash of BB15.
