I haven't been drinking long enough to know my limits yet, I will have a glass of rose if I'm out for food but other than that I drink to get drunk. I'm fine on malibu or disarrono but if I have quite expensive vodka I get smashed to the point I cry or have to get picked up by my mum because I can't stand up or I've vommed everywhere.

My worst experience was after having Wray and Nephews, it's a 60+ % rum and I had 3 shots of it and I thought I was dying, I had to be picked up by my mum at about 11 from town and I sat in the toilet for hours being sick on myself, I couldn't hold my head up I was so drunk my mum said I was vomiting while sleeping

I think I've got quite a European attitude to drink. I do drink, I've never been really drunk, I enjoy a few drinks with friends and like the feeling of being relaxed... I don't understand the concept of drinking until you can't stand up. I know some people drink loads before they go out... I don't see the point of drinking so much you don't know what you've done or how you're getting home.

I don't drink for ages and then nearly kill myself in the process when I do decide to drink so that's fun.

I mostly drink on Saturday nights unless i'm out at a party or on holiday etc. Plus because I never drank at all for so long it doesn't take much at all to get me drunk.

I'm intrigued why did you decide to drink again?

Well it started with just having a little drink on nights out and that really, was bored of being the sober one and listening to everyone else's drunken ramblings lol

Worst sober night ever...I was at a party and ended up sat between my two older sisters both were steaming n talking the biggest lot of **** ever, one was crying because she had a ladder in her tights and the other one burned the sleeve of my new jacket....I realised then being around drunk people when sober yourself was horrific

Oh yeah there is nothing worse :fist:

From 16 - 21 I drank to get utterly obliterated, tbh. That's pretty much the University culture, though.

These days I don't drink often at all, probably 5 - 6 occasions a year, and on those occasions I'd say I drink to get "merrily drunk" but not utterly smashed. Drunk enough to find stupid things hilarious but not so drunk that I suffer badly for it the next day, basically. Other than on those social situations I don't drink even a drop, though, and I sort of make a rule of not drinking at home . Partly because I am all too aware that this country (this world?) has a very unhealthy alcohol dependence even at the small end of the scale ("needing a drink to relax") and partly, admittedly, because I have my own personal hangups due to my mother's liver melting.

...so anyway :joker: TL;DR I drink very occasionally to get drunk-ish, never drink just for the sake of it, but have "done my time" in the past as most people do when they're young.

user104658 08-09-2016 01:29 PM

Oh I will add to that though:

I firmly believe that you do NOT entirely know someone, until you have seen them drunk. Alcohol does not "change people", as much as some would love to believe it does, it represses inhibitions and slows the mind. If someone says something drunk, they would think it sober. If someone starts using their fists to smack around loved ones with a drink in them... then they have some serious darkness and violence in them all of the time. They are simply masking or hiding it, consciously or otherwise. Worth considering.

I intend to get a good drink in me tonight. A bottle of vino collapso and perhaps a whisky or two. Socially with the TL with food. I wont be drunk but i will be a little bevvied. Sometimes for a gentleman a couple of drinks can be beneficial where as too many can have the opposite affect. YOu have to get the balance right. :nono:

I sometimes go on sober nights out and at pre drinks I get "what are you drinking" "omg why not" from everyone and they all ask me more than like 10 that night because they end up forgetting they already asked lol. Also when you're the sober one you kind of have to deal with all the drama that comes a group of drunk 10yr olds lol
