NIAMH. Go to the tapatalk "main page", press the little silhouette guy on the top right, press settings, scroll down and you'll find "Signature" and turn that **** off. You're welcome!

Kirk is passionate about his opinions, so are you. The fact you disagree doesn't mean one of you is completely wrong and the other completely right. I feel like Kirk was hounded away. And he's not the first. The trick, as far as I can see, is this: learn to be insulting without actually breaking the rules; say something outrageous to someone then say you were only joking or post the little joker emoticon; always remember to make a point of quoting or addressing someone who's trying their best to ignore you... apparently that's not considered baiting, so do it until someone reacts, then you can hit the 'report' button and they'll get infracted. Also, if someone has a different opinion from you, they are obviously the devil incarnate.

Come back Kirk. We can't afford to lose another poster or this place will end up with the same bunch of people all agreeing with each other and posting the little "applause" emoticon after each other's posts.

The thing is though, I rarely initiated any conversation with the guy, especially towards the end, because I actually found the debates we had quite boring. He'd retaliate to my posts (very occaisionally with insults) and get in a huppety when I reply.
Its difficult to talk about someone when theyre not here to defend their self... its unfair really, But I can tell you with certainty that he isnt the angel youd like him to be...
I rarely ever made or make threads in serious debates and news, but its just difficult for me to ignore borderline-xenophobia when I saw it on the homepage, and obviously I like to reply if somebody quotes me when i do post there.
his departure clearly made an impact on some users, but the only change for me personally, is the lesser relevance on the debates subforum, and I dont mind that much on a bb forum.
If kirk misses others as much as others miss him, im sure he'll come back.

Furthermore, I very rarely use emojis, and i rarely initiate debates by directly quoting somebody (usually just type my initial reaction to an OP and then come back if somebody quotes it) so I dont think your trick for no bans applies to me really.. I have never been banned (never actually had 3 infractions at the same time, I always assumed that it was a '3 strikes and youre out' rule until earlier on in the thread) Id like to think that I havent been banned because I wouldnt insult a member, despite getting a few insults thrown at myself, even here you called my opinions wacky.. Bit uncalled for.
I have agreed with all but one of my infractions and I understand the boundaries which kirk and the other banned members have crossed. Theres little use sulking. Kirk would probably still be here if he wasnt banned for rule-breaking in the first place.. But he did rule-break so he got banned, decided life was unfair and vowed to never come back.

He always seemed to throw his toys out of the pram and argue with the moderators like Dezzy for example, whenever he got infracted for breaking the rules and he never took any responsibility. It's like those people who think they can do/say what they like but get into a sulk when they're challenged over it.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but his leaving is just another example of that. Things not going his own way. He wasn't even banned. (I don't think).

Good riddance, I guess.

Tom4784 17-12-2016 12:33 PM

Kirk was actually pretty good when it came to handling his infractions.

See this just extremely petty and insulting but it's expected to be ignored because it's aimed at a mod yet had it been a mod aiming this at a member you would have been one of the first to quote it and shout about bias, abuse of power etc.

I've said this before and I mean it snipes at mods will be treated the same as snipes and insults aimed at any member!

Someone would post something a bit snippy and then a dozen tag-along-Tammys (the ones without the backbone to post anything confrontational for themselves) would "like" the post. Urgh. It should just be called the "Me Too Me Too!" function.

And the clapping emote should be changed to a little smug face chanting that.

I legitimately hate it. :clap1:. **** off. Say something for yourself or don't bother to post at all. People will argue that it's a simple way of saying "I agree!". No one cares that you agree! Quote the post and say something interesting as to why you agree, or just leave the post to stand on its own two feet ffs.

Its a bloody emoticon, it doesn't represent every instance of dickish pack mentality you've ever come across on the internet. Most people use it perfectly innocently and it's absurd to be so wound up about it.

(And I said most, not all before someone decides to list off whenever someone did use it to be a dick).

The other day I had a post deleted and was infracted for politely telling Dezzy I won't be discussing any issue with him , because in my view, he doesn't play fair. (It wasn't Dezzy who infracted me)

The post I quoted was Dezzy spreading lies about me, so after I had been infracted I decided to report Dezzy's post, guess what? it's still there and I assume nothing happened to Dezzy?

One rule for you mods, another for the rest of us.

So forgive me for thinking that you're talking rubbish.

No need to be rude and rubbish my post.

Actually I just had a look, since you brought up your infraction, you never posted politely alf you took the opportunity to have a dig, if you don't wish to debate with certain members then the adult way to go about it is to make use of the ignore option not quote the member that you say you don't want to debate with and post to them? That makes no sense tbh.

Having looked at the post you reported I don't find it to be offensive or insulting to you at all which is more than likely why it wasn't removed from the forum.

Of course you don't, that's my point. You never do when it comes to Mods.

But my post wasn't offensive to him, yet mine was deleted.

It's not true that I never do when it comes to mods there's been plenty occasions where I have overturned infractions and bans when I felt they were unfair and other mods have done too, we also have a discussion thread for every infraction that's given out and they are posted in a lot.

Of course you won't believe me if your minds already made up but it's the truth and plenty of members that have had infractions and bans overturned could confirm it.
