The new black handmaid has to be one of the most hateable characters ever

It’s one of the best series ever...we are hooked.

Is Lawrence good or bad, he is not exactly very straightforward

I thought Aunt Lydia's backstory would make me warm to her slightly but it just made me hate her even more by the end of it. Insecure, bitter hag!

I’ve just binged watched the entire show in like a week, fantastic, dystopian world shows are my favourite.

June is a fantastic character, although this season has been quite confusing.. it’s been entertaining but it feels the like there’s not one plot, I was hoping it would be very resistance based, but anyway June feels like she’s on a bit of a all out mad one at the moment which maybe is a resistance strategy, many scenes have shook me Emily’s surgery and the DC’s Handmaid’s mouths being silenced.

also does anyone find this Handmaid, ofsamuel, hilarious?

Latest one of this is amazing..annoying me having to watch weekly though instead of bulk..too used to netflix and streaming older stuff

That's Great News

Finished S3 last night

Spoiler:

ugh the last few episodes were so tense, every season Elizabeth Moss just gets better and better, she is such an amazing actor, I adore her. For the 3rd season in a row June almost escapes but doesn't, it's so frustrating but there was no way she was actually going without Hannah anyway. Some nice satisfying moments anyway to make up for it, June stabbing Winslow.....amazing, I was up out of my seat shouting at her to finish him off, that final smack to the head, beautiful :') Also the Waterfords being arrested (still not sure if Serena engineered all that or if she sold Fred out afterwards, Luke punching him was brilliant and also Serena thinking she's free getting re-aressted.
Moira confronting Serena aswell was needed so yeah frustrating that June hasn't gotten out yet but lots there to quench that need for justice anyway.

Do we know whether next season is the last? I love this show so much but feel like it does need to wrap up properly and not drag it out and ruin it. Looking forward to next season, June is surely going to have to go underground now unless they manage to blame others for the escape (possible I guess since she and the commander are still in Gilead

A Violent Rape Attempt

Just watched the episode where they have a fun family holiday to Washington and I had to come to add to the thread... This episode is one of the most beautifully shot episodes of telly I've ever seen. And I watch a lot of television. There are MULTIPLE "pausable" moments that are just works of art. The show as a whole is always excellent from a stylistic / cinematography angle but this episode is really standout.

I thoroughly recommend a rewatch after you've seen it once, so you can concentrate less on the story and just take it in.

Anyone read the Testaments? the sequel to the Handmaids Tale, I am half way through, I expect this will be where the TV series will go at some point, can't wait!

Niamh. 25-02-2020 10:12 AM

I haven't read any of the books Cherie. Gone very bad for reading

I literally went almost a whole year without reading a book :skull: I blame Netflix :oh:

The first book is quite short, but very true to the TV series up to S2, S3 has nothing to do with the book

When is this returning?
