And people would still say "they'll need to see how BB19 does and then they'll make their final decision!", est. CBB18.

This is a dead horse lying on the ground. C5 can't ride on it anymore.

They should announce it's over this summer when CBB21 ends.

Mrmattybeck 04-01-2018 11:21 PM

Question is what would c5 replace it with and would it do better

Noooo.

Eddie. 05-01-2018 08:25 AM

not with the civilian BB level CBB ratings! axe ha already!

pontyboi 05-01-2018 09:10 AM

Last night got 1.53 (inc plus 1)

It was a good episode to plus was up against bigger shows so for it to rise is a good sign.

supertv247 05-01-2018 09:17 AM

At least it’s going in the right direction  it did have a lot of competition, 1.7m on C4, 2m on ITV and 6.4m on BBCOne

In terms of January CBB though, still terrible. It’s the exact same as the equivalent episode of summer CBB got but down 400k on last Jan

Mrmattybeck 05-01-2018 10:18 AM

I’m just making the most of it now pretty sure this will the last year of the show

Those are some terrible ratings.

lewis111 06-01-2018 09:36 AM

It's so dissappoiting
About 90% of comments on social media about this series are completely positive it's sad to see it get such low viewing figures - undeserved

Now I really hope Johnny & Dapper come and save the ratings!
And mess @ Will & Grace getting 0.5 mil. higher than CBB.
C5 should have done last night's show in two parts tbh.

supertv247 06-01-2018 09:40 AM

Last years first Friday got 1.48 and 1.44 so the first episode is only very slightly down... However, that shouldn't be the case considering we had 8 new men entering this year while last year it was Jedward :(

Rob! 06-01-2018 10:43 AM

It’s not great obviously but can I also point out that BB was against the footie last night, which peaked at 7m.

Jess is not impressed.

Briancbbfan 06-01-2018 11:30 AM

I think last night will for sure boost tonight's viewing figures though - the male casting was excellent.

*mazedsalv** 06-01-2018 03:19 PM

So, yes, it is pretty awful but i'm going to clutch at some straws now...

Last night being down on Thursday is odd, there was a lot of hype, so i can only put it down to being a Friday and being up against the football. The footie did surprisingly well, those sorts of matches barely get 4s usually.

Fridays have done very badly the last few series, just like Saturdays, could be the younger lot out, i'm not sure, but that could be to blame. Last Jan went from 1.97m to 1.44m from first Thursday to Friday... and like Super said, last years show got 1.5m, so similar to what last night was.

Even looking at Love Island's rating last year, Fridays was by far the lowest rated day for them, before surging back up on Sunday.

And one very big straw clutch... it was the highest rated Friday since CBB19 haha, only thing higher was CBB20 final which got 1.6m.

I may be quite optimistic, but i think we will see a climb tomorrow. I reckon tonight will be 1.10m and tomorrow will get 1.69m.

I think what we can hope for this series is that it can hold on to 1.5m throughout, as that gives them a chance to hit 2m officials hopefully.

The show was recieved very well last night, a lot of praise about the cast and editing, so if it doesn't take off, then, it doesn't take off. It's sods law that the show could be excellent, but the ratings just don't increase. It's liike that with a lot of things nowadays.

Makes me wonder, will C5 be happy with a low rated series but excellent reaction to those watching, or will they want CBB17 type ratings with the show getting huge backlash.

They need to choose, sadly, good series do not go hand in hand with good ratings. I mean, the fact the likes of CBB18 did well in the ratings compared to CBB20 is criminal to me. Does it mean people like Bear like characters? Well if that's the case, i bet C5 are hoping Daniel does something controversial.... you know, get that standard BB first week ejection...

ethanjames 06-01-2018 03:22 PM

oh god,,,, hopefully this will be a good last season then

Jake. 06-01-2018 03:24 PM

What backlash did CBB17 receive? :suspect:
