A new rayman switch exclusive is coming!

Scarlett. 12-06-2018 02:14 PM

I think this year and next years conferences are gonna be less exciting for Sony and Microsoft, we're clearly getting close to the end of the generation now, and I think all the games that have been revealed from Sony's studios are the only ones we'll be seeing this gen. On the brightside, E3 2020 should be massive (like E3 2013). I'm thinking Starfield could end up being a launch title (or soon following launch) which is gonna be big, since this generation didn't really start off with any massive new games (I reckon TES VI might be 2021 too, maybe 2022)

I think the difficulty of the Soulsborne games are a bit of a misconception, in the games, you're kind meant to die a lot, it helps you learn how to fight better, Demon's Souls was a bit less lenient as you had to buy healing items, rather than getting them at a bonfire, or from enemies. I'm still into the style of game and I'm glad they're going for a different sort of genre this time.

Resident evil 2 looks really good though.

I think that those kind of Games can be harsh on players trying to get into the franchise personally.

I get the idea and appeal of the Games, it's just I would iron out some teething problems.

I got into the series via Bloodborne, there was a learning curve, but I found it much easier than I was expecting, the games are a lot more forgiving than people give them credit for. In a way I think the whole "super difficult" reputation works in their favour. I went back to the start and played Demon's Souls, and now I've just started Dark Souls... and its kinda easy for me now

Maybe I'm just a bad player then.:joker:

I'm feeling sort of over consoles in general tbh :worry:... Not to be all "master race" but games look, play and mod so much better on PC its not even close, and with consoles now using standard cpu and gpu architecture, even when the consoles are brand new PC tech overtakes within a year.

Seeing FFXV on PC vs PS4 Pro pretty much sealed the deal for me. Its so much smoother in combat it's like playing a different game. And don't even get me started on Bethesda games on console... The differences are so huge that they're barely worth playing .

Literally the only games I play on PS4 now are if they're PS4 exclusives. And then I still resent them being exclusives because they run at 30fps and I'm like... "PC would have better settings at 60 :hmph:".

Scarlett. 12-06-2018 02:32 PM

I still prefer consoles, I just prefer the plug and play aspect lol. Also, the price of consoles is much better than PCs (especially at the moment, thanks to bitcoin). I see the positives of PC, but I'm not ready for the leap lol

In about an hour and 15 minutes time when Nintendo's show starts.

The ease of use aspect has been out the window since the rise of Steam to be honest, there's no real difference between using Steam and using the console digital stores. Though I personally MISS the old days of fiddling around with DOS prompts, it was like a mini game... If you got the game to start you felt like a hacker. If sound was working, bonus points! :joker:

But these days the launcher does all the work .

The price difference is big, though, I'll give you that. Its not a cheap hobby :umm2:.

Don't even mention bloody Bitcoin. I didn't realise that I had paid more than DOUBLE for my latest card upgrade as my last one until I randomly stumbled on the email receipt from years ago. Thanks crypto :(

RAM is sort of pricey these days too, used to be cheap as. Though SSDs are dirt cheap at the moment...

The difficulty never bothers me, it's how homogenised that genre is. Nioh, Bloodborne and Nioh should all feel like wildly different games but it's like playing the same game with different licks of paint.

Code Vein looks like it could be janky but decent though I guess, at least it's trying something different.

The ease of playing is less to do with the software and more with the hardware hiccups that can happen, I don't wanna be doing a clean reinstall when I wanna play some FFXIV  Yeah, the prices for the hardware is getting a little ridiculous, but as long as bitcoin stays big I think it's gonna keep happening D:

rk3388 12-06-2018 02:49 PM

What would it take for Nintendo to NOT win e3 at this point :joker:

I'm guessing they show Fire Emblem, Smash Bros, Pokemon, and Yoshi. Add just two reveals maybe and I think that's a better show than most of the conferences :joker:

Tom4784 12-06-2018 02:53 PM

I've heard some theories that Mortal Kombat 11 could make an appearance at Nintendo's conference along with Sub Zero appearing in Smash. I'm not sure how likely that is though but I suppose this is the last chance for MK11 to be announced at E3.

Come thru Mario Party 11

haha I don't think that's the top of my list right now - I would rather have a new Pikmin, or even new IP. UNLESS they go back to the game boards again and make it actually fun

Ant. 12-06-2018 03:32 PM

Pikmin, Animal Crossing and MOTHER 3 (it's just not realistic!) are my main hopes this year

I've not had a hardware issue or needed to blank Windows for years at this point... But my builds are immaculate, obviously :hmph:. The closest I've come recently was because my 8 year old went to a site and downloaded a program that was offering her "FREE ROBUX!!!1!" which was of course a big ol' virus but I managed to weed it out without losing anything :joker:. Generally though, gaming systems are pretty much as stable as consoles these days if you don't go to dodgy websites and download dodgy stuff. Haha.

The hardware price issue I'm personally hoping will start to resolve eventually. If crypto ever starts to die out it'll solve the supply and demand issue, and if it continues to thrive I think we'll start to see more and more specialised hardware for bitcoin mining instead of people using gaming cards.

Tom4784 12-06-2018 03:35 PM

I just want more info on Pokemon and Bayonetta 3 tbh.

Oh yeah Mario Party isn't a priority lol. I'd just like one to tide me over.

Nintendo Direct's coming on in a minute or so, gurls!
