Binged all the new episodes last night

Spoiler:

I absolutely loved everyone of them, top class cheese fest, great endings for everyone I think, Krease quietly redeemed himself and they will never know :'(

Niamh. 18-02-2025 03:07 PM

I never realised it was Neil Patrick Harris who started the "Johnny was the victim" theory regarding the original Karate Kid haha

I agree I also binged watched all the latest episodes and they were really good. There was a lot of good acting in it(for a change) especially Johnny's character. The finale was perfect, there wouldn't be anything I would change

Spoiler:

Excellent season.
They really honoured the karate kid films with the bringing back the old characters, closing chapters of old rivalries, and the evolving of Johnny's and Daniel san's relationship great!!! It could actually go another season or 2 based on these 2 alone. (Although now that Terry and Kreese are gone they would have to find new antagonists. Could've been the iron dragon's fine ass sensei!! )

The kids were great but these 2 made the show for me.

Hawk was my favorite kid so a bit disappointed he didn't get a solo focus in this season but overall it was really good!!! 10/10

I loved how they brought that in to the show when Johnny puts his version of events forward in the first season [emoji23]

My favourite part of the final episodes was

Spoiler:

the training scenes with Johnny and Daniel in Rocky style

James 18-02-2025 10:58 PM

From the way it ended it was clear that Johnny was the main character in the show.

Absolutely loved that too!! Another great thing about the show is all the homages to the 80's. They didn't feel the pressure to modernise everything...they didn't make the kids dance to Kendrick Lamar!!! lol perfect example of how to keep old fans of a franchise and gain new ones. I will miss the show

Yes great point actually. I could see how it would appeal to both people who remember the 80's and the younger viewers too, that's not an easy balance to find either

He is a great character

Brilliant ending - I think a slight shame that some of the younger characters outside of the "Core 4" were sidelined (even Robbie slightly... Core 3...) but ultimately the show was about Johnny and Daniel primarily, and then Miguel and Sam as their main students, so it was still great.

Spoiler:

I dunno - as head cannon I'd say they will realise what happened. Johnny had that scene with Kreese (and Tory had a scene) where he was clearly genuinely remorseful, and there would be a news report about Silver's boat (it was a pretty big explosion :joker: ) and his death - then Kreese will never be seen again - also his final scene with Tory hinted at his plans when she asked if it had to be goodbye forever... i.e. "I have one more thing to do before I ... ... step aside."

So they'll never know for sure but I think they'll be pretty confident that he went and 'sploded Silver for them. They'll never know about Silver's exact plot to fk with Johnny's new family, but, he was always full of all sorts of nefarious schemes.

This is fan-made.

They'll discover his charred remains and Dr Johnny Lawrence will simply revive him and return him to full health.

Best doctor on TV!

- Cured Miguel's asthma by throwing his inhaler at the wall
- Cured Hawk's autism by saying "No u don't"
- Fixed Miguel's broken spine by calling his legs pussies and taking him to a concert.

He can definitely piece together an exploded corpse.

They filmed a scene where it is shown that

Spoiler:

Kreese survived but didn't use it.

Quote:

Adds Hurwitz, "We all assumed when filming that the guys died as a result of that." Still, Hurwitz admits "we wanted to leave ourselves options," so they shot a scene with Martin Kove that gave them the option to have his character survive the explosion... somehow.

"When we were filming that final montage we have in the finale — currently we land on that magazine, the Sports Illustrated, with Johnny and Daniel on the cover. We actually had the camera continue over and we have another magazine that had Terry Silver on it, [with a story about] the mystery of what happened to him," explains Hurwitz. "We even had Marty there to reach in with his hand and pick up the magazine. While filming it, we knew that it was ridiculous and would not make the cut."

They COULD have done it if they showed even a slight delay between the fight and the explosion, which is an editing choice they could have made later, but the way they showed it... that boat was completely obliterated instantly. There wouldn't even be chunks for the sharks :joker:. I can definitely believe that they filmed "alternatives" though, as I say they could have edited it differently so that there would more feasibly have been time for escape. Although if they did that it would also open up the possibility of Silver having survived which would make the finale feel less "final"

This site sells props from the show. Some of them cheap, some not so cheap.

I went to see this the other day.

It's quite formulaic and some things don't really make sense, but I was never bored. People in the cinema seemed to enjoy it.

And...

Spoiler:

Miyagi-Dough. :joker:
