I altered my shopping delivery time for a better chance of it getting here, but never altered the actual shopping.

Oh no it was definite panic buying, there were literally people barging past each other and grabbing things off the shelves... and the staff were running around in a blind panic. The shop was absolutely PACKED with people

It's not even that bad so far, then I heard that people were emptying the shops, and I was like "lol so dramatic". And then realised... it doesn't MATTER whether or not it's going to be bad conditions - the fact that some people are panic buying, means that the shelves are going to end up ****ing bare. So I had to go an panic buy too! I literally got the last two loaves of bread, last box of eggs and some of the last of the milk. They were having people call ahead asking for milk to be put aside for them .

I have also discovered that people panic buy beans... and crisps. Shelves totally stripped .

I bought bread, milk, popcorn, hula hoops and wine :hee:

Bread, butter, milk... sausages... nutella... supernoodles... potato waffles... sea salt and vinegar crisps... I basically spent about £50 on crap :joker:.

user104658 28-02-2018 01:20 PM

It was a bit blizzardy when I went. I hauled it all back on foot like a hunter with my prey, and burst in the door shouting "WOMAAAN! I BRING FOOD!"

Ammi 28-02-2018 01:30 PM

...the thing is TS..(..in defence of the panic shoppers...)...on the news at the weekend, people were being directly told to panic buy...so it was the same on Saturday../..Sunday here before the inclement weather hit us...

We're only on Amber at the moment... It's currently -3 and yeah, they've closed down all the schools which will be a pain for the parents. It was quite blizzardy driving into work this morning, though.

Babayaro. 28-02-2018 01:39 PM

it's pretty bad here

Ashley. 28-02-2018 01:42 PM

Went shopping earlier and local Asda was pretty dead.

No panic buying for me but this Beast storm has cost me a new shock absorber on my car....drove into a dirty great pot hole hidden by the snow which wrecked my front shocker :fist: Was loving the snow until then

Bloody freezing wind here today and some snow flurries but much better conditions than yesterday, think we got off fairly lightly

smudgie 28-02-2018 04:02 PM

Okay, still snowing here, just noticed that the house over the road has massive icicles hanging from the gutter.
First time I have seen that in the 25 years we have lived here.
