Damilola Taylor’s dad slams Raheem Sterling for reckless gun tattoo
Damilola Taylor’s dad slams Raheem Sterling for reckless gun tattoo and demands he apologises to families of gun victims
THE dad of Damilola Taylor yesterday urged England’s Raheem Sterling to apologise over his gun tattoo — for the sake of the kids who idolise him. Richard Taylor, whose ten-year-old son was killed in a street attack, said: “I’m totally against Sterling’s decision to glamorise guns. https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/...3749.jpg?w=960 “Footballers need to be aware kids look up to them. He must apologise to the families of gun victims.” Richard, 70, accused Sterling of recklessly glamorising a gun culture that is claiming the lives of youngsters and bringing misery to families. He said the striker’s decision to show off a tattoo of an M16 assault rifle on his leg was “totally unacceptable” — and set a terrible example to his impressionable young fans. He added: “Enough is enough from these footballers. They need to be aware young people look up to them. https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/...4995.jpg?w=960 “Too many times they have been part of the problem of guns and knives and gangs and drugs in our communities.” Richard said Manchester City star Sterling’s behaviour was particularly irresponsible at a time when gun and knife-related deaths have risen sharply. He added: “This is not a time to be glamorising guns — when we have more than 60 dead on the streets of London this year. “They have become toys in the hands of our youths. This is a critical time when we’ve got all hands on deck to stop the violence. TV pundit and misguided SJW twat Gary Lineker tweeted: “Unique to this country to attempt to destroy our players’ morale before a major tournament. It’s weird, unpatriotic and sad.” But Richard, awarded an OBE in 2011 for campaigning against violent crime, said: “Gary Lineker’s comments are extremely disappointing. “I am really annoyed at him. It undermines everything we are trying to do to stop the violence. “Is England’s performance at the World Cup more important than young lives lost on London’s streets? Lineker doesn’t know the pain of parents who have lost children to violence.” Richard’s son Damilola was 10 when he bled to death after being attacked in Peckham, South East London, in 2000. https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/...ets1.jpg?w=960 :clap1: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/640649...ichard-taylor/ |

I am having a breakdown I'm sure of it. Or maybe it's early onset dementia or something. I think the technical term might be I've suddenly got sh1t for brains. |
tbf you can actual own a gun in America so what's the problem with a tattoo of one, it should be the actual ones people are worried about
|
I agree Niamh. It's the shooty-bang ones you have to worry about. That is the level of my vocabulary today.

However some other tattoos can look ugly & tacky and although I've never understand the fascination with gun tattoos and I find them tacky, you can't tell people what they should and shouldn't tattoo on their skin / body  . I understand people not liking it ,I personally don't like gun tattoos either. But like mentioned there's a few celebrities and people in general with gun tattoos . |

Big fuss about nothing. And interesting point about Rihanna too. Seems some just want to take offense to this particular person? Why? Also yes to the moaners being the ones who publicized this anyway. His socks will cover most/all of it anyway.
However I do agree with those saying the reason he is giving for getting it seems...bull****. |
I wonder what his 10 kids thought of it
