What is your policy regarding a perma for Marsh please?

No permas, no bans, no infractions

And most importantly NO report button

A frightening prospect isn't it, adults having to hash things out instead of running off to mods about things on a Big Brother forum

To be fair i see it the other way around

Mods running to close threads the minute an argument starts like the forum will explode if we have a few rows with each other and or mods and admin never admitting faults just justifying why they did things time and again with no solutions or change suggested

(and no regular really sees this as a BB forum now)

and get infracted for arguing in threads?... no ta.

The report button is there to make mods aware of flashpoints as they aren't on every thread 24/7

why should anyone put up with abuse or be expected to argue the toss with some numpty?... no ta.

Half of that comes with members pissing their pants and reporting anyone they disagree with or dislike though, I mean didn't Vicky say that loads of people were reporting posts in the michael21 thread? And that was part of why it was closed (unless I misunderstood)

Maybe getting rid of the report button is the solution, then the mods don't have to put up with the endless complaints and everyone else is forced to tackle people head on or move on with their day and realise It's Just The Internet

Try reading my post again, I said no infractions

You don't have to put up with it, either put them straight or exit the thread - it's the internet, not real life

So were the posters who made negative remarks about Michael infracted ...and why was Kirk infracted when it is said it is understood his thread wasn't meant in a bad way? If you wouldn't have infracted him Vicky, then why WAS he infracted? It all sounds dodgy to me.
This forum is a minefield of confusion about what is and isn't allowed and tolerated depending on the mod online at the time, it's currently an uncomfortable place to navigate re the rules which treat us a bit like like children and feels stifling to post on when one mod will do one thing and another do something else - which is why I don't bother anymore and many long time posters are losing their love for this place.

I'm getting really sick of this and this isn't just aimed at you jet this is just the post I chose to quote, its aimed members that are continually entering threads lately in a pack manner and CONSTANTLY picking at other members and/or questioning forum staff in threads, I may not be posting much but i've been seeing this far too much lately and it stops now!

Other members infractions bans etc ARE NO ONE ELSES BUSINESS, this also means you dont post in threads asking for them to be explained, attempting to kick up drama due to staff actions, blatantly bait other forum members, abuse the report system by using to both report and insult members you have a problem with at the same time... I could go on n on.

IF you have a genuine query about any staff actions that relates to you personally then contact a mod or admin and IF we think its something that needs discussed further we will reply.

I wont be posting any more warnings about this sort of behaviour so just a heads up right now that heavy infractions will be given out if this continues from here on in.

Hope you don't mind me saying this marsh, but I get quite sick of the claims that only one 'side' are ever punished and such.

I agree that sometimes people get infractions that shouldn't, and we do overturn infractions sometimes, many members can confirm that. However, the correct way to go about getting them reversed is to send a calm email to a member of staff explaining why it was wrong in your opinion..admin is better, as mods do not generally overturn each others decisions unless its clearly not deserved at all..if you PM a mod what will happen usually is a discussion will be opened up in the infraction thread (if there is not already a discussion about it, which there sometimes is) and the person who gave the infraction will explain why they did and so on. A group of people continually going on on the forum about how someone elses infraction should be overturned though? Comes across quite badly, seems in a way like you (royal you) are trying to force a reversal.. and is not going to change anyones mind.

No problem at all. You're right.

Nicky91 08-06-2018 12:29 PM

maybe it's for the better if this thread is closed

Vicky, I am not getting at you, or any other mod for that matter, but the transparently obvious unequal treatment is something that has been clear to see for a while. Maybe the forum admin want it that way ... it seems they are happy with the situation as nothing has been done in months and I'm sorry, I don't swallow the too busy response as it's insulting to our intelligence.

What unequal treatment?

Be more specific?

Do you mean if two members have an argument, one is infracted and the other is not?

How would you possibly know one way or the other?

Do you have any examples?
