Welp

Not too bad considering the launch figure. Maybe losing the Saturday episode was a good thing after all- it certainly made me more excited for the episode. I really hope this series climbs as it deserves it. Hopefully if the word of mouth is positive then the catch-up figures will be decent.

Im not surprised with the ratings. But hey as long as we enjoy the show..

Nicky91 17-09-2018 11:08 AM

Eddie. 17-09-2018 11:51 AM

Still crap for such a good series...

Okay so 150k down from launch under the circumstances, that’s alright. First hurdle crossed. I do wonder if it’ll climb as the week goes on.
I mean Christ, I know we’re talking about ridiculous numbers here but we’ve got to put a positive spin on it.

The 3 most popular videos on My5 right now are two episodes of BB and one episode of BBBOTS. The 4th most popular is an episode of Peppa Pig.

There's nothing positive about this imo.

The main show is getting what BOTS used to get.

I know that but we can either work with what we’ve got or just moan for eight weeks.

It is terrible.

But one thing we can say is 10-11 30pm.

Considering ITV could only get 1m at the same time proves that anything ending that time will never do well.

I think finishing at 11 tonight will maybe help it to the 800s. I know it's bad but it's late (not for me). All I saw on social media was people saying they won't watch that late.

Also at that time I think what channels will look at are share (they do this for morning and afternoon TV). The fact that it was up in share is at least a bit of good news.

A 7% share at 9pm would equate to between 1m-1.2m.

It's probably not fair to compare 9pm episodes to 10pm as there is in general around 5 million more people watching T.V. at 9pm than 10pm.

So I think may be shares will show us how well it compares?

*mazedsalv** 17-09-2018 01:36 PM

Just to note BB18s first hl show got exactly the same share (6.9%) desite getting 1m.

Y’know, I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility for us to get a rating that’ll beat the launch at some point.

Agreed! I think if the series continues to be good people will slowly discover it again, get hooked and make it a habit. Also some controversy in the press ala Roxanne wouldnt hurt and is likely to eventually occur and hopefully bring viewers on board.

I personally felt the launch show was very slow due to the inordinate time spent with Emma interviewing the housemates families. The choice of housemates and mix were very good though, which bodes for more interesting highlight shows than the relatively slow paced launch which i believe may have switched viewers off.

Rob! 17-09-2018 02:01 PM

The series so far is perfect and remember the catchup numbers will be bigger than usual. Like I say, I know we’re working with tiny numbers at the moment but I don’t think this series is dead and buried yet.

with a better time schedule, it would get better ratings, so the flop is all on vile C5

thisisdanny 18-09-2018 11:08 AM

I don't get why everyone on Twitter are making an issue over the 10pm slots. Digital Spy even made an article about it. http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/big-bro...ans-not-happy/

Every series of BB the weekday episodes have aired at 10pm (Excluding Friday obviously)

It's not the timeslot that's killing it tbh. Plus I think a lot more people use catchup these days. In fact Big Brother is the only thing I watch "live", everything else including the soaps I watch on catchup or record them.

Am I right in thinking from this month catchup figures are added to officials?

Rob! 18-09-2018 11:29 AM

Urgh I was hoping last night would rise :(

Rob! 18-09-2018 11:29 AM

WHY?????

Greg! 18-09-2018 11:39 AM

lol maybe the catch-up ratings will be amazing who knows. They're more important anyway for persuading platforms like Netflix to show it.

Rob! 18-09-2018 12:20 PM

698k+1. It’s on too late for the +1 to make much of a difference
