The point is that the so called 'tolerants' aren't particularly tolerant at all

My problem with it is that it is a bog standard list of things that most people should be doing without having to told to do it, the other one I would add to is to do some type of work either paid or voluntary because routine is great for the mind

Well, I saw it that way because essentially the OP was just telling everyone that we should all take a negative attitude towards life not do anything that would make someone feel good about themselves, which I saw as being intended to wind people up and give a reaction and it looks like the OP has succeeded

what increases the irony is that they think they are and that others do too

when this is exposed it can lead to anger and indignation...

which isnt very nice at all

So you can bring something up you have witnessed but I can't do the same without giving you proof?

By your own logic you are lying yourself.

Ok.

"I'm not a troll"

"I may enjoy winding up a few precious people"

:joker:

It is trolling and you know it is. I don't really care either way as the forum can be hilarious but let's call a spade a spade.

Maybe you're not "a troll" but you certainly enjoy trolling. You ADMITTED IT. :oh:

Yeah it's almost like thinking positively is easy you know it's not like human thought processes, behavioural patterns and general mental wellbeing is anything other than easy breezy for absolutely everyone.

Therapists will be out of a job soon. Depressed? Cheer up! It's easy!

Trolling is legal, and anyone who uses oppressive actions to stop people trolling are the ones in the wrong.

Two different things, there is proof of what I am claiming on this thread, what you have claimed could be in your own head?

Is there anything on that list that has come as a shock to you...have a bath..? I mean really? if only it were that simple

Alf and LT haven't denied it. In fact they've responded to my posts in agreement.

"Could" ha, loving all these hypotheticals today but let's stick with things that happened.

"That list" No. I'm not the one pretending mindfulness is simple. You're quoting the wrong person.

Like summing up a cooking book as a list of foods and saying "I mean really?".

Who said things have to be shocking or mindblowing? When suffering mental illness the mind doesn't tend to operate rationally.

The haven't confirmed it either

Oh dear. What you going to do? Conduct a survey? Get them to sign statements?

The best of luck with it x

Twosugars 14-01-2019 05:23 PM

tbh, as Marsh said earlier, the concept of mindfulness has at times been hijacked by some crap merchants

the way my therapist explained it is about being mindful of what we do and why and hopefully making changes starting with micro-behaviours
it's about reflecting on what we feel and think in the moment and drilling down to find out why we think/feel this way

the stuff in the op picture is more about wellness than mindfulness so I'm not quite sure LT is attacking the right thing

Marsh. 14-01-2019 05:28 PM

Exactly. Anyone can break anything down to buzzwords to ridicule something. Doesn't make it valid.
