The in-universe answer would be that a customs officer thought Shangela's butt pads looked like bags of crystal meth

The actual answer would be a mixture of bad luck (they had a 40% chance of placing second) and being so popular that all of their votes were concentrated at the top of people's rankings, with no votes further down to fall back on in the unlikely event that... well, something like this would happen </3

You'd best believe I just tried to change the title to "the gayest Alyssa and Shangela-less crossover event of the century", but was stopped in my tracks by TiBB's character limit

Previously on The Amazing Drag Race...

- Eleven teams set out from New York City in a race around around the world.

- Jinkx & Dela and Alaska & Willam formed a short-term alliance, which ended when Team Seattle ditched the Race Chasers at the Detour.

- Alyssa & Shangela's behaviour at the airport alienated the other teams, who got the last laugh when the Haus of Edwards got detained in Colombia.

- Gia & Laganja got lucky at a sports bar - not only did Gia complete the Roadblock, but she bagged herself a man named Sebastian as well.

- It was Jinkx & Dela, however, who sped ahead to win the leg. Alyssa & Shangela, after spending most of the day in detention at the airport, came in last and were eliminated.

- Ten teams remain. Who will be eliminated next?
