I love the thought of Josy waking up and having to undo all of the random bans Michael has issued

Morgan. 08-09-2019 12:04 AM

The only acceptable answer is me

Josy clicking "DE-MOD" next to Michael's name, three days into his new job

I've always wondered if we'd get a new mod for a while now. It's literally been over half a decade since the latest addition to the staff if I'm correct, and we had a recent resignation

I volunteer as a tribute.

Ammi 08-09-2019 06:21 AM

...(..I think maybe, take better care of the mods we have...we don’t always do that......)...and then maybe if that helps the forum/membership to expand..then the mod team can as well, to account for that...atm though, the ratio of staff seems about right for the activity...

...but without going into controversy etc...I think some of the things that staff have had to cope with just in recent times, since I’ve been back is quite crazy....and adding another mod doesn’t seem like the thing to do right atm...

And this sense of reasoning, tonal balance and commitment to impartiality is exactly why I believe Ammi should be our next mod!

(just kidding) (unless I end up convincing you to change your mind, in which case I'm definitely not kidding)

Ammi is right. After seeing what Dezzy went through I don't know why anyone would want it to be honest.

This

Nicky91 08-09-2019 07:22 AM

whoever will be the new mod, needs to be impartial

Cherie 08-09-2019 07:26 AM

This thread was going along fine but once again the can of worms has to be opened. What Dezzy went through? just about the same as what he put members through by abusing his mod status on many an occasion

MB. 08-09-2019 07:28 AM

Granted, I've only skim-read the majority of this thread, but how did "I only know who three of the mods are, I wonder if it might be time for a new one" become "here is my list of demands for the new mod who we are definitely electing at some point soon"?

Nicky91 08-09-2019 07:29 AM

i won't abuse my mod powers if i were to be a mod, i would talk it through with other mods before moderating anything myself

Without intending to speak for the actual mods here, I doubt much would ever get done if any mod considered it necessary to call a group meeting before doing their duties

"If you could wait until I've finished my Pilates class before we begin our thorough discussion on whether or not to lock the 59-page thread 'Who Would Win in a Fight to the Death: Trump, Corbyn or a Giant Panda?', that'd be great, ta"

i guess i have learned from Niamh, Vicky a bit unintentionally, as i know when threads go too offtopic they need to be locked for cleaning

but i more meant in terms of bans, infractions, discussing that with another mod or admin before taking any actions

MB. 08-09-2019 07:39 AM

The panda would win, for the record

Beso 08-09-2019 07:45 AM

God sake, can't a day go by on tibb without these love in type threads. With the same people bumming the same people up time after time...it makes me sick.

Perhaps if you contributed a little less of this sort of thing to the forum, people would be more inclined to put you forward as a potential mod and you wouldn't feel quite so sick about the whole affair

(p.s. it's barely 9am, we tend not to start discussing bumming on TiBB until half 10 at the earliest)

Nicky91 08-09-2019 08:22 AM

i as a potential mod stand for more positivity and lesser moaning, lesser making things personal on here

i know some called me a prick on here recently but i tend to be really affected by a negative atmosphere and then i become irritated, stressed, annoyed

Nicky, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don’t think you’re exactly what the mod team are looking for at the moment
