Aye, empathy is all well and good, but people saying she’s a victim, or she’s been manipulated and she’s the only one that deserves any form of sympathy, all of which I’ve seen in the past hour or so, not just on here, to me, just screams ‘straight rights!!’

Exactly

Phil and his wife should stick together, if not for themselves, but for the children

like i mentioned about that Martien Meiland in earlier post, he and his wife also live together for the children, they just sleep separately

Cherie 07-02-2020 11:33 AM

It kinda makes a mockery out of Good Morning where they give out all this santimonous advice  it would be like Jeremy Kyle turning out to be a wife beater, or regularly robbing his granny

An ignorant comment like this can be extremely damaging, Arista. Well done.

Everyone is different, and feel comfortable to 'come out' at different points in their life. There is no time limit.

I think we should be commending his brave decision and not spinning a negative on it by criticising his timing.

maybe the brave thing would have been to not get married and live a fantasy life at the expense of others?

and on TV

Does his wife not deserve to have a partner who fancies her and wants to have sex with her?

Liam- 07-02-2020 11:40 AM

All things considered though, he’s still a dick, but now that explains why he loves himself so much

Liam- 07-02-2020 11:40 AM

Badumtsh

From his statement

The presenter also praises his "incredible" wife, adding: "I love her so very much. She is the kindest soul I've ever met.

This is the last thing anyone woman would want to hear after her partner of 27 years has announced he fancies men, poor Steph

I'm glad Kyle was taken off air , he was a smug arrogant idiot. His show became even more of a freak show just laughing at people :bored: .

it's really not as black & white as that, LT.

Yes, it is a terrible shame for his wife to have to come to terms with it. But, it's also a terrible shame for him that he had to wait so long before he was comfortable enough to live openly with his sexuality.

None of us really have the right to disect his 'coming out' as we are not him. But we should at least respect it.

GoldHeart 07-02-2020 12:02 PM

His story has dominated news now

But it isn't about "straight rights " it's about the right to an honest relationship. It's nothing to do with her sexual preference.

I always find it gross when there’s a story about a gay person, most of the time it always end up coming back around to ‘aww, but what about straight people?’

I find this gross... There are 2 people in that relationship, nobody has said they don't feel for Phil!

It has nothing to do with sexualities at all, are we not supposed to take anyone else's feelings into consideration?

Suddenly they are not a unit they're lumped into the gay or straight camps?

Beso 07-02-2020 12:15 PM

Can someone explain the erection thing please.

Yep remember when fern lost her weight and it turned out she'd had a gastric band?...
She was out on her ear after that.

Just heard about this. Feel really sorry for his wife and children. Imagine being married for 27 years and your partner decides to come out as gay, I’d be a bit devastated (not that I have an issue with people coming out as gay but I just think in this situation it could’ve been done sooner and been a lot more honest in the relationship).

It's all very strange , I wonder what's going through their heads.

Imagine your marriage feeling like a lie after all these years .

*If she did know about it then that's a different story obviously

She did, according to his interview.
