No, I’m not over 70 or have underlying health conditions, but if people want to get it it’s their choice

This is the type of attitude that has helped the virus to thrive :skull:

Gstar 05-02-2021 04:47 PM

Nah, I think it’s more Boris responsible for that

umm, no

also if you are young and you haven't got underlying health conditions you won't get the vaccine for a longer while with all honesty

So will you not get it once the older cohorts are done and they are vaccinating the rest of the population and its the turn of your age group?

Vanessa 05-02-2021 07:15 PM

Yes. Just got the letter today.

Kate! 05-02-2021 07:23 PM

I've decided I'm definitely going to have it. Even though I'm still somewhat apprehensive. X

Not as much as those who are put into an induced coma not knowing if they will wake up again.

That has nothing to do with what I just said.

No, that’s more reason not to get it as the people most at risk would of been vaccinated.

It wasn't an accusation, just a question.

It's not a mandatory vaccine so totally up to each individual.

I know people who feel the same as you.....although a few have changed their minds due to possible "vaccination passports" but as that is only supposition at this time its silly to decide whether to have the jab because it could, maybe stop you doing things.

I have flip flopped, although have now decided to get the jab when I get offered, mainly in case I could still transmit it to more vulnerable people who may not have been able to have the jab, not because I'm scared of getting the virus.

Same. I don't want to pass it on to others

What about those who are immune suppressed and can't have the vaccine. Does it worry you that you may put them at risk?

I thought it was only live vaccines that immunosuppressed people couldn't get?

Mind, I only 'know' this through my dad having no spleen. Hes been on about the vaccine, and I always thought it would be dangerous for him, but his doctor said this^

The passing it onto others bit is the only reasn I will get it mind. Hence, being quite unsure when it seemed it was all about lesser infection, rather than stopping spread.

I was just answering your question and yeah my only fear is things being restricted or “not allowed” for people who haven’t taken it but I’m sure it wouldn’t come to that

It would be pretty much the same for the flu as well, obviously I don’t want to endanger anyone’s life but I’m not going to take a vaccine purely to protect someone else with no benefit to me. I’ve had hep B and HPV vaccines because it’s to protect me and my body and both I feel are far more important than the covid one

Kizzy 05-02-2021 11:05 PM

That's a no then? OK.

With any luck what Vicky said about specific vaccines still bring available for those who can't have a certain one. That way nobody will be put at risk however unintentionally.

Not us having to pin Ammi down now as well as Nicky to have the jab :oh:

bots 16-03-2021 10:30 AM

i wouldn't have put Ammi down as one of those anti-vax activists ... they are hiding everywhere

Vanessa 16-03-2021 10:32 AM

I decided to have the vaccine to protect myself.
Because I have an underlying health condition.
