…it was strange how when he was doing the quiz…David Schwimmer, quizmaster immediately became Ross, quizmaster…

…Lisa and the spider was just so incredibly Phoebe and I don’t know if it was because she slipped into Phoebe that Matthew and David became their characters as well…

…some of the most emotional bits were people from different parts of the world saying how those characters had meant in their own lives…..

Yh I think out of all of them he’s the one that I liked and felt bad for the most because like you said he had his struggles and he’s always came across as a really nice, funny guy in the interviews I’ve seen him in.

I never realised as well (I only noticed it in rewatches sometime later) how his weight changed so much between seasons 6 & 7.

I loved the part as well when Matt Leblanc easily managed to pick out his identical hand twin

It was so funny. I love Matt and David’s friendship you can tell they really enjoyed working together. I remember an interview (I think it’s the Conan O’Brien one?) where David said that he found it difficult to work with Matt because he made him laugh so much on set with certain looks and reactions he gave when filming certain scenes

Couldn’t stop crying when they all returned to the set  Such an amazing group of people and such an amazing show

There was a selfie of them in 2019 of them all together, and lots of photos of the girls together.

Really enjoyable episode. Would've personally cut the random talking heads with BTS, Beckham etc but I think it was a good celebration of the show. James Corden was fine as an interviewer.

The start of it was very moving. As was the behind the scenes of the finale taping.

I had no idea Matthew Perry had...that much work done to his face though. That was pretty jarring.

Just got done watching. Really enjoyed it. You know why we all liked Friends? Because we wanted them as friends, we wanted a piece of their lives. You watch as the 7th friend, and that's why this show worked perfectly!

To be fair, it's not that they haven't individually seen each other or even in smaller groups seen each other, just not all together at the same time. I think that's fairly common with old groups of friends. Heck, I can't actually remember the last time me, my dad and my sister were in the same room :joker:. A good 3 or 4 years ago. Though we regularly visit(ed, pre-covid :( ) my sister and my dad quite regularly drives up to see the kids (again pre covid :( ).

Anyway, my point I guess is that just because they haven't all been together as a group, doesn't mean they don't individually keep in touch. Some more than others I imagine. A few of them have worked together on smaller things (guest appearances in each other's shows etc.) and I think the three girls see each other.

I agree that Matthew Perry seemed the most like "an outsider" on the night but actually I'm not sure that's the case - I think what was coming across was that he was the least comfortable being there, but I don't think that was necessarily about the other cast... he just seemed a bit anxious and self-conscious during the "live" part which can manifest as aloofness/distance. During the "on the set" parts he seemed more comfortable, especially when it was just him and Matt.

6 people who worked closely for a few years, moving on to marriages, kids, other jobs, living all over the world. I'd have found it strange if they did find time for all 6 of them to be together very often.

They've all been in touch, just not very often the entire group at once. Sounds fairly ordinary.

Yeah, the Matthew stuff seems like he's full of anxiety being on camera/in front of an audience in general, especially given all the stuff he spoke about.

This was a shock. I think the last time I saw him was on Graham Norton a few years back now and aside from simply looking older he didn't look like he'd done anything.

….I think for me it wasn’t that I wanted them as friends as such…it was more how we attached or I attached because they displayed so much in their characters that we see in our own friendship groups and in ourselves…and even the simple titles of the episodes of…’the one with…etc…’….was very similar to our own friendship chats of…’..oh remember that time when….etc…’…you know..?…the ‘magic formula’ for me wasn’t that I wanted the characters as friends, it’s that I saw bits of friends in them so much…none of my female friends wanted to be a Monica but many are very Monica at times…..there are a few Phoebes as well but no Rachel’s I don’t think…most of my male friends would either be Chandlers or Ross’…No Joey’s….but yeah, for me it was relatability to friendship groups and personalities….

…with the interviews of people in different parts of the world, though…?..what it showed was that the ‘magic’ was that the series and friends meant something different to all of us and I think that’s exactly it…

user104658 30-05-2021 11:11 AM

I’ve been friends with a couple of Joeys... one of them was even part-Italian :joker:.

bots 30-05-2021 11:21 AM

I once had a girlfriend named Rachel

Just watched it....loved it.

GoldHeart 31-05-2021 06:54 PM

Awww i just finished watching the reunion, this is probably the last time we'll see them all together on set like that . Was nice to see them all reminiscing and watching old clips :) .

Matt Le Blanc always looked distinguished in his later years, but now i would say Lisa Kudrow has aged better gracefully the most out of them all .

But was good seeing all 6 of them meet up again, and you can tell they all still get along with eachother and have that love and respect . Whatever else they do in their careers, Friends will always have cherished memories for them all i'm sure .

Swan 31-05-2021 07:21 PM

I loved it, but i would have liked them to bring up the Joey series, see what the others thought of it etc..

It was awful, best to pretend it never happened.
