It succinctly answers the initial question though. Multiple examples of the banal tribalism that’s emptied out the forum over the last 3 or 4 years.

I find it generally unlikely that anything run by groups of people who come from the same ideological standpoints can ever be truly “moderate”, and my idea of “good moderation” is simply that people don’t get vicious, don’t mock, and argue topics in good faith. That last part is what TiBB is lacking sadly. But again though you can see that trend all across politics, the media, even academics these days. Point scoring and groupthink and being “on the right side” takes centre stage, no one is bothered about arguments being well-reasoned or logical.

From what I’ve seen of the offsite groups they’re heavily skewed towards one type of ideology.

I might be wrong, I’ve not actually been on them.

As for why Tibb is a morgue well I agree with all Dezzys posts.

I haven’t seen anyone suggest that the two sides are equivalent, just that they exist.

The only reason I’m here at all is that I like old-fashioned forums :laugh:. I have little to zero interest in other forms of social media, or chat rooms (which is what discord is, as far as I can tell?)
