‘We jammin' Kate and William given pop stars' welcome on visit to Bob Marley's hometown By RICHARD PALMER Wed, Mar 23, 2022 The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went to Trench Town, the working-class district of Kingston where the reggae star lived and wrote his most famous song, No Woman No Cry. They toured his former home, now a museum, and played drums with some reggae musicians in the courtyard where Jamaica’s biggest superstar learned to perform. There was mass hysteria in the neighbourhood, the birthplace of reggae, as the royal couple were mobbed by crowds who chanted: “We love you, we love you” as they walked to Trench Town Culture Yard and Museum in Jamaica’s capital. Their walk to the museum came after William played football with England star Raheem Sterling, Aston Villa and Jamaica winger Leon Bailey, and some Jamaican league players in front of a cheering crowd on a neighbourhood pitch. |

Be very interesting to see how this one is handled. His brother has said the same and has been called all sorts.

It’s a shame that a very small group of Jamaicans let such a friendly country down by being so hostile and disrespectful to their visitors representing the Queen as part of her Golden Jubilee celebrations. William and Kate have handled it and the tour magnificently and are the epitome of good manners and class. |

Prince Harry was also met with protests about reparations, etc in 2012 when he toured Jamaica and the Bahamas for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. More than 10 years later and here we are again… |

I am saying the opposite of 'just accept their place'; if they don't want the Queen as head of state/be part of the Commonwealth, then they have every right to change that, but stop making a song and dance about it, just get on with it.... |
