My point is, it can be turned off but shouldn't be removed as sone parent's will feel it is an education opportunity to discuss trans issues with their children. Where is the harm?

Do we ban Emmerdale as Matty is trans and has discussed issues of gender realignment as that might be confusing as why does a man have breasts? Emmerdale is on pre watershed when most kids at watching tv?

Annie...you always hold a respectful discussion. My comments were not aimed at you. Its more than obvious who the name callers are....

There are Shows out there that aren't that entertaining at the moment imo, because they pride realism over entertainment.

Ironically this Show isn't even the worst sounding Show that I've heard about.

You don't like an opposing opinion so you get the hump.

There is debating...and there is name calling which is just uncalled for.

Don't get me wrong it sounds better now that I know it's not an entire episode, but it's still one of those scenes that sounds like it'd be a really boring scene.

Well if they didn't then they would turn it off:conf:

What you find entertaining as a child will not be the same as an adult

It would solve this whole debate if parents did if they're not happy.

Like what?

Show me the name calling?

I think someone called someone a bigot at worse.

Which only means you won't change your opinion on something.

Shall we just shut down the debate section?

Ohh, and let's just leave it down to the schools to educate them. Not our business.

It's one of those topics that I personally just don't find interesting to watch.

I wouldn't ban the scene or anything like that because I'm not a lunatic, but I just think it's one of them that's weird to be apart of a Big Hero 6 which looks like a more fantastical story of our world.

So a story about sanitary products just looks to Slice Of Life for that Show.:joker:

You can pick up plenty of leaflets at the doctors surgery, you dont need a white blob on the telly confusing the issue.

I don't think anyone thinks that is biologically possible.

And tbf I wouldn't want Disney to deliberately offend Trans people either, it's supposed to be an entertainment company at the end of the day.

And that's when I said well it's not aimed at adults yet you keep going on about adults finding it entertaining and even asking who of us on here would...which just not relevant as it's a children's programme....

Well, :joker: this isn't realistic either...it's a robot asking for recommendations which as I kid I would probably have found funny. The role that children's TV plays has changed somewhat over the years. I feel they are able to add in educational aspects whilst still making it fun... Mr Tumble springs to mind.....the wombles
...I can't think but there's loads, the one where they explain how stuff works and lots of them include maths for example... You are taking something massively out of context to try and say it's not entertaining when all we have seen is a 1 minute clip in which they're in a supermarket buying some sanitary products

No I've asked about children & adults, who would find this entertaining?

Thinking about kids taste in Shows and scenes, they tend to normally love one of three things.

1. Gross humour like Sanjay & Craig.
2. Adventure Shows.
3. Musicals are a big hit with kids.

But ironically you're just jumping onto one part of what I've said, and have completely ignored posts where I've said about who in general (including kids) will find a scene, an episode or a season about Sanitary products entertaining? Thinking of when I was a kid, my Niece & Nephew's taste in Shows, and kids in general, they aren't really that interested in this type of scene so it's weird for Disney to make it imo.

Tbf I haven't seen the scene in question so maybe it is less boring than it sounds.

It's just to me personally the idea sounds dull, speaking for myself as a kid too, it just sounds like a really dull scene.

And for me an entertainment medium should be providing entertainment for it's audience, maybe Disney can prove me wrong though and kids will rate this scene really highly.

I have no problem whatsoever with anyone disagreeing with my opinion, and I had an opinion on one aspect only, as I repeatedly said.
It’s when they go on to expand and lecture you on things you didn’t even refer to or have a problem with in the first place, that its not worth the bother. My personal choice.

Have I missed something?

I feel like me and ThomasC at least have debated each other respectfully, and Jet & AnnieK seemed fine to me.

I mean this is a 5 page thread so I might've missed something, but everyone seems reasonably respectful in the debate from what I've read.

I'm actually ashamed at what this forum has become. Really don't know why I bothered to log in but it had to be said.

Look at the put downs to anyone who dare challenge the point....'Thick' 'Unintelligent' 'Bigots'....and you quoted them and agreed

Welcome back Black Dagger.

Not meant as sarcasm btw, I'm happy to see you back.

I apologize if my posts have put you off coming back on here, I didn't mean to offend anyone, I was thinking about the episode from an entertainment/interest perspective.

I don't perceive myself to be in the transphobic camp, but people can correct me on that if they feel otherwise.

The random few come on here and spoil the tone...calling any parent or anyone that objects "Thick, uneducated and unintelligent"....TC offers good debate but he quoted these comments and agreed with them...
...and that was up to page 2.

I know.

No offence intended here, but I think you're not judging this Show through the lens of what a child would want to watch.

I'm judging it from a child's perspective first and foremost, and when I was a child I wouldn't watch a programme that had such a realistic approach to storytelling, and a lot of kids don't like realistic kids stories like this either as they're immature and normally want to watch something more juvenile or adventurous.

And then I judge the programme through my own personal tastes that I have now, and that scene sounds incredibly dull, and as it's the only thing that I know about the programme then it's the only thing that I have to go off.

I hope that I've made my point clear.

Fair enough, I've probably missed them when skimming through the thread.

I'm gonna be off now anyway, I've enjoyed the debate.

See you guys later.:wavey:

Half the problem is the fact you've been made to feel like you have to apologise.
