i myself am loving this line up so much, probably my fave line up yet (and this is also something i say every year)

one can be negative regarding the viewer ratings, but to give that a positive spin to it, 6.8 million viewers at least did see a wonderful week 1 show, not too much overmarking compared to other recent years

and that songs, dances for this week promises lots of goods yet again

and 6.8 million is 1 million more than for launch show, so we only lost out on 1 million viewers there for this year in a head to head battle against the england football match vs italy

viewing figures in germany btw

the covid year 2020 had a peak in viewers, over 4.7 million mainly also because no live audiences that year, and there was the stay at home rule ofc

2021 went slightly down but still above average 4.2 million with reduced audience in studio

2022 with full audiences again, we had viewing figures like 3.8 million average and for launch show and grand final a slight increase 4.1 and 4.3 million respectively

and strictly has also people like me, from Netherlands tuning into the show, also fans from Belgium tuning in, i once read on social media's like facebook

Mystic Mock 29-09-2022 03:37 PM

Strictly always builds it's ratings up, so the producers shouldn't panic just yet.

If the Show has lost people though then I can't say that I'm shocked after last year with Rose's coronation and essentially being treated with kiddie gloves compared to every one else.

Also the final last year had to be the most glum final in Strictly history with how much crying was going on.

Vanessa 29-09-2022 05:07 PM

I'm enjoying the series anyway.
I will keep watching as I do every year.

Nicky91 30-09-2022 08:52 AM

Kaye & Kai are going to be good this week i think

there's going to be cartwheel tricks, maybe more than 2 lifts

her swivels looked decent in that training clip what we saw

Ellie S came across really lovely last night, she and Nikita have such great chemistry already

Helen's Cha Cha dress looks sizzling HOT, lovely light blue

Ellie T's Paso dress has very vibrant pink colours

Amy has a lovely looking tango dress

tonight Tony & Katya, Kym & Graziano, and the first friday panel of the series (am curious who are in the panel)

Vanessa 30-09-2022 11:24 AM

I like Nancy and I think she did a great job with Rhys last year.
They produced some of my favourite routines. They're Argentine tango was incredible and so was their Charleston.
I really want her and will to do a ballroom next week.
Maybe a lovely American smooth?

Nicky91 30-09-2022 12:24 PM

tomorrows show length 2 hours 13 minutes

6:30

and results shows on sundays are from 7:15 (as usual)

Nicky91 30-09-2022 12:42 PM

something i have to confess

i've been watching this show since series 9 (so that's 11th series for me now this year)

and i've been watching it takes two since series 11 i think  yes the moment when i started having favourites (Abbey was the first one who i really really liked)

the taste in my favourites now you think of it

Abbey Clancy, Georgia May Foote, Daisy Lowe, Pixie Lott, Brian Conley, Mollie King, Lauren Steadman, Emma Weymouth, Chris Ramsey, Kelvin Fletcher, Bill Bailey, Dan Walker, Adam Peaty

the flav :flutter:

Nicky91 01-10-2022 08:08 AM

Tony is so nice  his charleston training clip, looked pretty alright, Katya opted for the slapstick comedy version of charleston, rather than the one with loads of swivel, smart move i think, for a lesser capable celeb

this will be soooo much fun, and this dance suits him well i think, as well as the character of dustman

good seeing Mollie, Dr Ranj and Ugo again too :flutter:

Nicky91 01-10-2022 09:12 AM

for tonight i'm looking forward to Hamza & Jowita's Jive, both charlestons (Kaye & Kai a more traditional charleston with swivels, cartwheel tricks, Tony & Katya more slapstick one, also with couple of lifts)

oh and apparently Tony was good in training for his tango, but the first week nerves got to him, he has been enjoying this week a lot more, Katya does see a dancer in him from what she saw in training with the tango

Kym also needs to let go a lot more and have more fun, she's way too serious, she has fab music taste though, as corrs runaway is one of her fave songs what she's dancing to tonight

Jayde looked stiff in training but for tango you need to be stiff, staccato so she does that right i think, one thing i also know about tango is having quite a aggressive look in your face and i think she can do stunningly at that as well, and she gets to live the dream of returning to golden days of being a adele tribute act tonight :D

Matt hmmm samba suits him better than quickstep that's for sure, and a disco samba could at least be somewhat enjoyable maybe

i have full respect for Tyler, first doing the marathon today and then tonight jiving to hit the road jack with Dianne :worship:

Vanessa 01-10-2022 11:35 AM

Some of the Train clips are not recent.
Why can't we see Hamza and Will recent training clips?
Theirs is from Wednesday.:fist:

maybe they got something special in store for us in terms of the whole performance

maybe the AR effects again? Blinding Lights and Bad Habits seem ideal songs for that sort of tech with all honesty

Who's ready for another round of Strictly magic?

Our couples are back in the Ballroom tonight with their second routine of the series, and it really is all to play for. We've got Quicksteps, Tangos, Charlestons and more to look forward to from our fifteen fabulous pairs, and the stakes couldn't be higher.

Not only will our couples be scored by the Judges, but the public vote will open for the first time this series, meaning two couples will face the Dance Off and one duo will be heading home in tomorrow night's Results Show! So listen out for the vote opening when Claudia announces it in the show and get all the details here, so you're ready to save your favourites when the moment comes.

We're wishing all our Strictly stars the best of luck for tonight's live show - they've worked so hard over to bring us some sensational performances and we know that you're going to love them too!

Keep up with everything happening before, during and after the show over on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter, and join us at 6.30pm tonight on BBC One.

I hope so. I love these two.

Mystic Mock 02-10-2022 12:24 AM

Tony personally entertained me the most tonight.

Molly is probably the best dancer technically.

Matt delivered a special dance.

Nicky91 02-10-2022 07:13 AM

my personal scores

Will & Nancy: 7
James & Amy: 8
Ellie S & Nikita: 7
Helen & Gorka: 9
Tony & Katya: 7
Ellie T & Johannes: 3
Richie & Giovanni: 8
Fleur & Vito: 5
Kaye & Kai: 7
Hamza & Jowita: 10
Kym & Graziano: 8
Matt & Nadiya: 5
Tyler & Dianne: 9
Jayde & Karen: 6
Molly & Carlos: 10

Nicky91 02-10-2022 07:19 AM

both charlestons impressed me equally as much, both very greatly in character all the time too

James HALLELUJAH, major improvements from last week for me, no longer that dull at all, he has shown some more personality, and i disagree with craig big time, there was loads of drama

Ellie T, what can i say LOL, whoever thinks a pink dress is a good idea VICKY  but other than that, i agreed with Craig, lots of posing going on, and too little attack from her side

Fleur, beginner pro mistakes can happen yes, but contemporary viennese waltz did not work for me, too little content, too much faffing about to quote our legendary Len

Molly, no dance experience and being this good, WOW, we all knew she was an amazing singer, but now we see her talent for dance as well

Richie, ugh as much i hate him, Gio is making a dancer out of him, although not sure yet, as both dances here were in his comfort zone, i wanna see him with a serious dance such as tango, waltz, rumba, paso, he'll struggle a lot there i think, where he cannot be too smiley and hyperactive

Nicky91 02-10-2022 07:50 AM

Will was worse than the week before, but somehow i still enjoyed watching his salsa, and natural hip rotation rather than too theatrical or too good

so there were mistakes yes, but mistakes make you human, and mistakes should be there in your journey with all honesty, 7 because it was still a enjoyable routine

Helen was undermarked, that was a fantastic cha cha for a complete beginner :clap2: she's in it to win it

Nicky91 02-10-2022 09:15 AM

Ranger Hamza is ICONIQUE

that was a good jive, especially for someone with his posture, great futuristic choreo from Jowita as well

I don't know what the hell Matt was doing , he's worse this week lol .

I think both Fleur & Molly were the best last night:) .

Tony improved, but it was only enjoyable because of all the little clever tricks Katya threw in,I didn't expect her to pick him up at the end . Also was he supposed to drop her ..one of their lifts looked a little awkward Lol .

I actually enjoyed a few of the dances ie Helen looked like she was having so much fun & I liked her dance , Hamza had one of the best songs to jive to ,Will has the confidence.

Kim's routine was so elegant ,and again one of the best songs for ballroom.

I was even impressed by Richie as there was a proper routine. Both Ellie's look like they're getting more comfortable now . But when I watch Ellie T , I'm more focused on Johannes because he's such a good teacher.

Jayde dipped this week ,was too stompy. But the drama was there.

Tyler & James keep improving ,and I enjoyed their dances .

Strictly Jake 02-10-2022 02:07 PM

Another enjoyable show

My favourites at the moment are Molly, Fleur, Helen and Kym

Nicky91 02-10-2022 02:17 PM

i somehow hope Molly gets to dance to a classical piece of music at some point, would be cool if she also gets to dance to Ave Maria or something, a song she performed in BGT final 10 years ago

Matt surprisingly might be behind the rest of them as it currently stands imo.

Fleur is delivering decent dances tbf, but I can tell that Shirley really doesn't like her, so I'm interested to see how long Fleur will last in the competition from that.

And I agree about Tony, but Katya has always been a pro at making bad or average dancers look really good, I always remember how good she managed to make Seann look with his Matrix Paso Doble performance.

And I agree with you that this series has delivered some fun performances so far.

Although I've got to be honest and say that Helen & Hamza's performances blend into the background for me.

Vanessa 02-10-2022 05:39 PM

Will doesn't have any dance experience, he's still learning.
I think he will come alive in movie week, where he can use his acting talent.
I thought Ritchie and Giovanni were the best, that was fantastic.
Mollie may be the best dancer, bur she leaves me cold personality wise.

Nicky91 03-10-2022 07:14 AM

Tony's movie week theme being Full Monty

Hamza dancing to Jurassic Park

:amazed:

James as Starlord from Guardians of the Galaxy :flutter:
