"interrogated"

journalists should be ashamed at this shameful reader trolling for views

Zizu 30-11-2022 10:05 PM

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the grift - most people would dismiss and roll their eyes about inappropriate comments or questions from a decrepit old fossil; it takes a special kind of mind to use it as an opportunity for publicity and money-making.

It's like an experience everyone has experienced.

Your invited to a party...

Someone connected to the host insults you...

You make that known...

The host reacts, and the insultee, is black balled from future parties..

One question I have for this woman..

Now all that's happened, why the hell are you still bleating on about something that isnt bothering you at all, other than providing you with a good after dinner speech.

Ohh the LBC clip! Tbh I generally ignore and skip past news type media posted on this site because most of it is BS :joker:

Apparently wanting a name badge to actually be visible and moving something hanging in the way was a big insult? She's really reaching for every little thing ain't she. If it's really impolite to touch someone else's dreads, maybe don't leave them in front of something that's meant to be visible?

Blud no.

She can wear what she likes, who cares?
(As long as it doesn't have vile language or penises hanging off it)

Crimson Dynamo 30-11-2022 10:36 PM

for a woman who works for a "charity"

she is NOT very charitable to the aged...

Redway 30-11-2022 10:43 PM

I saw that. Shocking.

Exactly, arista. Even if you’re not aware of racial subtleties and what’s appropriate thereof it’s still a total invasion of privacy and personal boundary-space to make a complete stranger answer such questions. Whether you have experience dealing with subtle racism or not there’s absolutely no defending this one.

But if you like the person, and they don't talk with a london accent, they talk in broken English.

It is ok to ask them what part of africa they are from yeah?

Of course I do but some people won’t be listening either way so beyond the little I’ve already said I’m just going to let my sentiments be reflected in what most other people have written in this thread. I’m not getting into any long-drawn debate tonight.

If you can just answer the question above honestly, that will do for me my friend.

I've lost count of the number of people that have asked what part of Scotland I am from, i don't consider that racist

Maybe because Scottish isn’t a race.

When the mutual familiarity’s tight enough/you’re talking as (potential) friends the only thing wrong with that is assuming they’d have to be from Africa, even the way it sounds (and for all you know they could be from Saint Kitts and Nevis). But in the context of this thread it was so-blatantly asked to racially-offend Ngozi and tell her ‘her kind’s not welcome’ and that’s blatantly not okay.

That's true, but she does look like a stereotypical scotsman in a way..so on that note, I think its fair to say, "I wouldn't be offended if I was attending such a lavish event, and someone asked me in my kilt and sporran, what part of Scotland are you from"

I would actually be made up to bits that someone was asking me about myself and my home town.

Because she was a racist scumbag, Mock. Pure and simple. Ngozi really, really didn’t overreact.
