BBC apologises to Farage over account closure story
[The BBC has apologised to Nigel Farage over its inaccurate report about why his account at Coutts bank was closed. On 4 July, the BBC reported Mr Farage no longer met the financial requirements for Coutts, citing a source familiar with the matter. The ex-UKIP leader later obtained a Coutts' report which indicated his political views were also considered. He thanked BBC CEO Deborah Turness - who has written to him - and business editor Simon Jack for their apologies. "It's not often that the BBC apologise. But for the BBC to apologise I'm very very pleased, " Mr Farage said. "Jack says, in the tweet, that his information came from a trusted and senior source. I would suggest that it may well have been a very senior source. More on this a bit later," he added. Mr Jack, who tweeted his apology, said his story was "from a trusted and senior source". "However, the information turned out to be incomplete and inaccurate. Therefore, I would like to apologise to Mr Farage," Mr Jack continued.] https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-66288464 |

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has "significant concerns" about the conduct of NatWest boss Dame Alison Rose, BBC News has been told.
Dame Alison admitted a "serious error" in talking about Nigel Farage's relationship with its private banking arm Coutts. She said she had been wrong to respond to questions from the BBC about Mr Farage's account being closed. Dame Alison has faced calls to resign from Mr Farage and several Tory MPs. Those calling for her resignation include former cabinet minister David Davis. Nigel Farage, the former leader of UKIP, had demanded NatWest explain how his financial information was made public as the row over his bank account closure escalated. NatWest said it still had full confidence in Dame Alison at the helm. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-66308627 |

I've no liking for Farage.
I had thought he was making a mountain out of this issue but concede I wasn't correct in that. I think this is an absolute mess and a scandal for this Bank. I have to applaud Farage for even keeping on it too to expose what is a scandal. A lot more heads need to roll on this issue not just the person who has for her massive betrayal of a customer's trust. For all customers of all Banks. Something has to be done to ensure fairness and protection of customers after this scandal. Not leave them to do as they like. |

There are NW forums on Fb where huge swathes of people were being locked out of their bank accounts.
Nigel Farage has rightfully used his platform, not only to speak out about the wrongs done to himself, but to all those other victims who didn't have that platform and he's not stopping there. Well done Nigel |
NatWest shares sank to the bottom of the FTSE 100 following the resignation of chief
executive Dame Alison Rose. The bank’s shares have declined as much as 3.5pc - their worst decline in a month - after Nigel Farage called for the “whole board to go”. £600 MILL WIPED |
