[BBC’s Newsnight hosted an unbalanced
GB News bashing panel where both
Adam Boulton and Caroline Nokes called
for the channel to be taken off-air because
Laurence Fox was rude. Ofcom, when it
ruled against GB News over impartiality,
reminded broadcasters:

“The Code is clear that when programmes
are dealing with matters of major political
controversy and current public policy,
the heightened special impartiality
requirements apply.
Specifically, Rules 5.11 and 5.12 require
that an appropriately wide range of
significant views must be included and given
due weight in such programmes,
or in clearly linked and timely programmes.”

Calling for the shutdown of a broadcaster
because a presenter has behaved badly
is an extreme stance.
Despite the BBC’s roster of presenters
including the likes of Russell Brand,
Jimmy Saville and John Peel – all of whom
behaved far worse than Laurence Fox – their
misbehaviour has not resulted in calls
for the station to be shut down.
Newsnight’s panel did not constitute the
required “appropriately wide range of
significant views” as required by Ofcom.

If co-conspirators want to make a complaint
to Ofcom about Newsnight’s lack of
impartiality they can do it here.]

CEO Angelos Frangopoulos

Was on Radio 4
early.

He is dealing with this
faster than the sad bbc would

Also the GBnews CEO is
happy for Ofcom to regulate GB news

UserSince2005 29-09-2023 12:48 PM

BBC should be more concerned about their staff raping people and kids.

Eamon is back on Monday 6AM

Fridays he is not on.

Cherie
2 of them are just one hour shows a week

The Other one Dan
can be replaced.

It is no problem for GBnewsHD
they have a good CEO who wants Ofcom
to regulate them
like all other TV shows.

Christopher Hope
is their new Political Reporter
he is great.

I’ve just heard and seen so many suggestions that’s he’s a womaniser .. he jokes that he’s a terrible flirt and can’t help himself despite his partner ( Ruth) despising him for doing it .

There are loads of examples online where Ruth has said if she ever found out he’d cheated then it would be over …

The interviews I’ve seen suggest they don’t spend that much time together and bicker a lot .

I’ve worked with loads of people who can’t abide their spouses/partners and they are prone to flirting with everyone .

This kind of thing … sounds like she knows something but kept it under wraps out if respect for Ruth

::::

Today’s Loose Women panel got a little spicy when Linda Robson claimed Eamonn Holmes is a bit of a lady-magnet.

Yep, that’s GB News’ Eamonn, 63 who is married to former This Morning co-presenter
Ruth Langsford

While discussing Love Island’s most recent couple casualty, Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu –
who announced their split today
– the conversation turned to whether classically ‘good looking’ people are more likely to cheat.

Linda, 65, then opened up about a former partner who was particularly good looking, and who she claimed girls were ‘all over all of the time.’

Then, Linda revealed how she caught him cheating multiple times.
She added: ‘He had a really good personality as well. He was really funny, he was charming, and just all the girls loved him. Wherever he was at there’d be girls.’
After Katie pointed out that perhaps it was charisma that made Linda’s ex attractive to other people, Linda cut her off and said: ‘Eamonn Holmes is a bit like that.’

Naturally, worried where this was going, host Kaye Adams said: ‘Steady!’

But Linda continued: ‘Whenever we go out with Eamonn Holmes, he’s surrounded by women everywhere he goes. Ruth knows it as well.

I get what he is trying to say, and I can agree with him to some extent.

However News Channels which are meant to be very serious and professional environments, cannot have their employees talk about how "shaggable" someone is or isn't whilst they're meant to be doing their job.

Basically it's knowing the time and place to say certain things.

It always makes me smile when I see the word "Ofcom" in a story. Ofcom is not fit for porpose. I remember the comment at the Coronation from Adjoa Andoh who said the balcony at Buckingham Palace was "terribly white". This was one of the most complained about moments of TV in history but despite this, Ofcom decided there was nothing to answer. They're a pointless, toothless organisation.

in a world of free speech, people are allowed to say what they want. No laws were broken in Fox saying what he did.

We are in danger of the least little thing being used to terminate someones career. Nothing would have happened to the trio if they were in with the station management

It feels like the days of free speech are long gone when we all have to be soooo careful how we address someone

That Adjoa woman probably had the most openly racist moment in TV history in the UK.

I'm not saying that Laurence Fox should lose his career over this, but I do think that it's deeply unprofessional of him to make those comments in that particular environment.

Dan Wootton however I feel differently on because it's not his first offense of crossing the professional line.
