the whole thing needs to be scrapped and the BBC should never be allowed to commission similar types of show again

Tbf the Talent Show concept can be fun.

The main things that needs to be avoided here are the bullying (and in Graziano's case) the violence.

Because being brutally honest, would we have any industries left if every time there was trouble behind the scenes the organization/business has to shut down.

We need to not be too reactionary imo.

Umm No

like i said, don't hire too ambitious, too competitive pro dancers but more those who can tone things down for beginner celebrities

and also don't cast those with dance backgrounds (or at least nothing too obvious dance backgrounds, because hiphop background is completely different to latin/ballroom, Detlef Soost also had to start from scratch at lets dance this year and he also said how he struggled first few weeks of training how you got much more rules in latin and ballroom compared to hiphop or michael jackson music video choreographies)

arista 23-07-2024 07:07 AM

Yes they want a Cull of some old dancers

Strictly: the allegations so far

Fiona Phillips
Footage has emerged of Strictly professional dancer Brendan Cole slapping the former GMTV presenter on the rear during rehearsals in 2005.

Laila Rouass
The actress’s then dance partner, Anton Du Beke, said she looked “like a p---” after she got a fake tan during her time on the show in 2009.

Fern Britton
Britton claims she was “kicked and shoved” by professional Artem Chigvintsev during rehearsals in 2012, which he has denied.

Steve Backshall
The British explorer reportedly complained to the BBC that dancing pro Ola Jordan “bullied” him during his run in 2014 and he compared her to a “drill sergeant”.

Laura Whitmore
The presenter says she was “extremely uncomfortable” dancing with Pernice and “cried every day”.

Anneka Rice
Rice revealed that she was left “depressed and needed three months of physio” after her appearance in 2019.

Will Bayley
The Paralympian says he suffered “life-changing” injuries after he was pushed by pro Janette Manrara to jump from a table. A representative for Manrara said: “Her celebrity partner’s safety and enjoyment was always the priority throughout her time on Strictly. Janette has never received any complaints.”

Ranvir Singh
The Good Morning Britain presenter says she was “scared” of Pernice when partnered with him in 2020.

Zara McDermott
The former Love Island contestant was kicked by her pro partner Graziano Di Prima during rehearsals last year. He has been forced to leave Strictly and has moved back to Italy.

Amanda Abbington
The Sherlock actress claims she was left with PTSD after her treatment by Pernice in 2023. The BBC has launched a misconduct probe. Pernice says he has “always rejected any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour”.

Nicky91 23-07-2024 12:24 PM

i believe Artem

as for Anneka Rice, three months of physio after what? your awfully walking around those 2 weeks :joker: and i understand you being depressed if that was your only dance ''talent'' :fan:

Laura uncomfortable dancing with Gio, hmmm wasn't noticeable in the training vt's or in the liveshows she was uncomfortable being with him :fan:

Fiona, a story from almost 20 years ago :skull: jeez speak about old news, mustard after the meal nonsense :idc: i do believe her though yes Brenda has a severe anger management problem

Steve and Ola were my faves that year, Ola is a Ekaterina Leonova type, so what? don't moan

Sorry but the majority of these complains just sounds like celebrities signing up and not expecting to be pushed hard by professional, champion dancers, oh you were shouted at? You felt ‘bullied’? Grow up, everyone and their mothers know dancers and trainers don’t mess about when it comes to training people, if you can’t handle the pressure or being worked hard, you shouldn’t sign up

Nicky91 23-07-2024 01:09 PM

especially the likes of Brenda and The Jordans have been known for their frequent outbursts, like we also saw on the show towards the judges

am surprised Widdebeast doesn't complain, oh wait, sitting around and being carried around isn't exactly being worked too hard on :hehe:

makes you respect the celebs who don't complain much more honestly, Ed Balls for example, what a machine he was willing to learn how to dance no matter what or John Sergeant

Exactly. Dance training is very hard. They should expect that if they're on Strictly.

Vanessa 23-07-2024 05:34 PM

Giovanni has always been a tough taskmaster. Not everyone can handle it.

Yes, I agree. They are told about the hours they will have to put into it and how stenuous it will be - it's like a boot camp really - the shouting and all.
No hitting or kicking though, that is totally unacceptable.

Yes I agree that's not acceptable.
Exactly like boot camp. Especially for those who never danced before.

Hasn't Anton already apologized over that scandal? It's very pathetic that it's being dragged back up over a decade later. Especially when he has already apologized over it years ago.

And Ola like Giovanni I will defend here, all that's being said about them is that they're strict/possibly unpleasant people behind the scenes, that alone shouldn't warrant all of this that's going on.

After all the dancers do have to encourage some standards for their contestants, because the judges certainly don't.

The other scandals I am willing to more than hear out personally, as there's definitely room of doubt in my mind about what was going on in some of these scenarios.

…I’m assuming and hoping that the training is all on video for all….as with the Zara and Graziano incidents and how ‘kicking/spitting’ was exposed in a watched vid…that should have always been and should always be in place because then differentiating and identifying ‘unacceptable’ is not left to any interpretation….its also an important and basic thing to have those videos for the safeguarding of the pro dancers as well as for the celebrities…so that neither are vulnerable to any possible inaccuracies…

Yes, in case someone could do a false accusation. It's good to record all training.
It protects everyone involved.

Amanda Abbington
gave an Exclusive interview
to Ch4HDnews.

One of their presenters
was with her on BBC1 show
so he noticed having trouble at the time.

She explains all the nasty Texts
she has had
people asking her to top herself.

She never ever wanted to bring down
Strictly

Also she in not blocking the Videos

When asked was the video a Sexual Nature
yes she said - then she was crying

It was at the start of Ch4HDnews last night

:suspect:

could be true, people on social media can be quite vile (although on instagram you have a filter tbh unlike places like twitter/x or tiktok)

i believe that she never had the intent of bringing down strictly, until her withdrawal, she in my opinion would've been another possible contender tbh, especially based on her foxtrot to fleetwood mac everywhere which was gorgeous, and her salsa those lifts and hips were amazing, she also came across lovely on it takes two, so i don't understand the hate she was getting online but some haters really hate without any reason i guess, quite sickening how inhumane some people can be
